Over the weekend members came together with other trade unions and groups across Glasgow and Edinburgh to celebrate international workers day!
Every year is vital but this year, with far right politics gaining more and more momentum, building strength in our communities and workplaces is vital.

Your landlord is voting for their interests, we need to vote for ours.
This Thursday, vote for politicians that will fight to protect our rights and that we can push to bring rents down.
A reminder that the rich make the most money during a war.
As war continues to destroy the lives of the people of Iran, mega corporations and the richest are seeing some of the biggest profits on record.
Meanwhile in the UK, ordinary people are being pushed further into a cost of living crisis.
Scotland needs a rent freeze too. If the next government is serious about tackling poverty, they need to introduce a rent freeze until proper long term rent controls are introduced.
But the next government needs to learn from the problems of the rent freeze in 2022 and ensure any future freeze applies between tenancies so no landlord can hike up the rents when one tenant moves.

đ„Today we launched our manifesto for the Holyrood elections! đ„
In just over a month's time, this country is going to the polls to vote in the Scottish Government elections. At the same time, the far right are taking control across the world and in the UK. And still our politicians are promising more of the same. After nearly twenty years of austerity, we know that promising the same will get us nowhere.
Thatâs why today we have launched our manifesto calling for:
* âreal rent controlsâ that bring rents down
* A mass programme of social housing to reduce reliance on the Private sector
* Retrofits to make our homes warmer and dryer
* a joined up publicly owned public transport system;
* and the replacement of council tax.
We deserve more than politicians who promise to make things slightly better before delivering nothing for us and everything to big businesses.
We need to reverse the tide. Letâs build power in our communities.
