Hi there. Just a quick update on my progress: I’ve had a really successful ending to my judo year firstly winning the 1st ranking tournament of the year in Wales, then becoming Scottish champion and lastly by becoming British Champion at the recent championships. It’s my 2nd time of winning and was testament to the hard work I’ve done with my coach on the mat but also in training off the mat also. More importantly this positions me firmly at the very top of the British judo ranking system.
My energies now turn to my school academics as my prelims are due in January.
2025 will be a big year for me on both the academic and judo fronts. My next ranking tournament is the Scottish open in January before I undertake my European competitions with a goal to qualifying for both the 2025 youth Olympics as well as the European championships.
Have a great festive period and thank you for supporting my page.
Ps. See some throw clips from recent tournaments within the comments.

The judo season is in full swing and I’ve had a couple of notable competition successes. I took part in, and won gold in the Welsh Cadet open last month. With that, I went to the top of the GB rankings list. Then in early November we had the Scottish championships where I again managed to win to make it my 3rd time. This sets me up for the British championships in December. In between these competitions I have been working hard on my overall fitness. There is no success without hard work.
I’ve posted some fight winning throw clips in the comments.

It has been such a busy judo time lately I've found it hard to grab 5 minutes for myself. Ive had a few international judo training camps as well as competing for the 1st time in international competition where world ranking points are up for grabs. After a poor competition in Spain I travelled to Bremen in Germany where I managed to get my 1st international win (see comments section for a clip). Overall, it has been vital experience and in all honesty, I've probably still got the best of me still to show the other competitors. No time to dwell tho and next stop is Berlin mid April. I then will take some time out to undergo school Nat 5 exams before the hard work begins in summer 2024 ready for the new season ahead. Some photos from my travels.

Sharing the training mat with double Olympic champion (2016 + 2021) Shohei Ono. And getting thrown like countless others. An honour.

There has been a lot of judo these past few weeks. The good part is that I won a bronze medal in the English open recently, a British ranking event. Yet again I was beaten by the eventual winner at the semi final stage after 4 wins so clearly there is still a lot of work to be done. But I’m getting close and really growing into this new weight category. Im fighting some giants recently.
I also had a camp over at Fuengirola in Spain (see pics) with some GB Judo companions. As always some fight clips in my comments section.

Hi there. I’m about to enter a busy judo period so I thought I’d drop a little summary of what I’ve been doing lately. I had a spell of time off the mat since late last year to allow a leg injury to heal that saw me miss the British Championships.
I returned late January at the scottish open - a ranking tournament - and won a bronze medal after 6 fights. I lost to the eventual winner in a 6 min match on shidos (penalties). So it was close but I learned some things also.
I completed a hard training camp in Poland last week and get ready in 2 weeks time to join other selected British colleagues to start my IJF European Grand Prix’s. Really tough competition and not for the faint hearted. 1st stop is Spain. Speak soon
Some pics below from recent comps and camps. I’ll post some fight clips in the comments section.

I have had a busy judo time recently. Firstly, I have now gained black belt status. I’m now a 1st Dan. It’s only taken 10 years.
Unfortunately tho I’m currently off the mat with an injury meaning that I miss the upcoming British championships. That’s unfortunate as I did back myself to have a big tournament having picked up medals so far at competitions. Below are some pictures taken by Fergus Pirie photography on behalf of Judo Scotland. Will keep everyone posted on my rehab.
