A wonderful rare 19th century Burmese low chair c1880.
The chair carved from a single piece following the curve of the trunk has vine ornate detail throughout the back. The legs front and sides are also carved in relief. There is an inset with fabric upholstered seat and the original brass castors to the four legs.

A superb statement piece.

William McGregor is a highly respected 20th Century British Painter who mainly focussed on the beautiful mountain landscapes of the Highlands of Scotland.
Very little is known of this Scottish artist except that he often painted Scottish landscapes, in oil, often on Royal Deeside. His palette is bright and fresh and his compositions often attractive.

A morning walk in Edinburgh & just thinking about things that used to be so normal. Police box for police on the beat never seen now. Post box for letters never sent now. Telephone box never used now along with some other photos I liked as I walk from busy streets to the quiet Canal. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Have a great day.
