Yes, Islay has stunning beaches too. White sand, wild Atlantic views and not a wh**ky cask in sight. Although we’d still recommend fitting one in afterwards.

If you’re coming to Islay for wh**ky, go into the warehouse.
At Bruichladdich, tasting straight from the cask, surrounded by the wh**ky as it matures, is a completely different experience.
It’s exactly the kind of thing we look for on a Scottish Routes wh**ky adventure 🥃
Thinking about Islay in 2027? Scottish Routes tours are now open for booking.

If your idea of a good afternoon involves Islay wh**ky, sea views and a distillery tucked away on the coast, you’ll want Bunnahabhain on your list.
Our guide Moray’s giving us a glimpse from the veranda, but this is one you really need to see in person. Join us on an Islay tour and we’ll get you there 🥃 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

There are few better ways to spend an afternoon on Islay than wandering around Lagavulin Distillery before sitting down with a dram of the wh**ky that made this place famous.

Nothing beats tasting wh**ky together, comparing notes and discovering how differently the same dram can taste to everyone around the table 🥃

A look inside Bowmore Distillery: these are the copper giants behind one of Islay’s most recognisable whiskies. And yes, they’re even more impressive when you’re standing right next to them. Come with us to meet them!

More than 1,200 years old, Kildalton Cross still stands in its original location on Islay. Look closely and you’ll spot lions, snakes, spirals, peacocks and biblical scenes carved into the stone.
Dating from the 8th century, it offers a fascinating glimpse into Islay’s ancient past, and it’s one of the places we love sharing with our guests on our Islay tours.

A distillery tucked away on the north coast, with the sea right outside and wh**ky shaped by its surroundings.
Known for its distinctive coastal character, Bunnahabhain offers something a little different from many of Islay’s famous smoky drams.
If you’re building your Islay wh**ky list, Bunnahabhain deserves a place on it.

This is where the real magic happens. A warehouse tasting at Bruichladdich is one of those rare wh**ky experiences you'll remember long after the last dram. Straight from the cask, surrounded by history, on an island that lives and breathes wh**ky.
Come and raise a glass with us on Islay and join us on a Scottish Routes wh**ky adventure.
