Gate 2 is designed to accelerate viable energy projects. But acceleration also exposes weaknesses.
When foundation design, OEM interfaces, installation and QA are managed separately, small gaps can quickly become programme risks once a connection date is confirmed.
In our latest article, RADIX Managing Partner Christian Alexander examines how Gate 2 is reshaping project delivery and why integrated structural accountability is becoming increasingly important across BESS and grid-connected energy infrastructure.

Accurate installation data is becoming increasingly important across the ground screw and screw pile industry.
That's why RADIX worked alongside Datum Electronics to develop the RADIX 8000 PTM, a compact, fully wireless Precision Torque Monitor designed specifically for ground screw installation equipment. The result is a robust system that captures accurate, repeatable torque data in real time, helping engineers, contractors and installers verify foundation performance with greater confidence.
Already used across RADIX installation projects, the PTM8000 supports a best-practice approach to quality assurance, traceability and installation verification.

Delivering consistent results, even when conditions change.
Following the successful installation of foundations for a temporary bridge at Celtic Lakes, Newport, RADIX returned to deliver a second bridge on the same National Grid scheme.
Working within a protected SSSI and in significantly wetter ground conditions, our team installed screw pile foundations to depths of up to 15m, maintaining programme momentum while minimising environmental impact.
The project demonstrates how RADIX screw pile foundations provide a repeatable, low-impact solution for temporary access and civil infrastructure projects in environmentally sensitive locations.

🎉 Happy Birthday, Shane! 🎂
Today we're celebrating our very own Shane McGivern with what has become a RADIX birthday tradition... one of Aga's legendary homemade cakes! 🍫😋
Whether he's helping customers, supporting projects, or bringing his experience and expertise to the team, Shane is always ready to get stuck in and lend a hand.
From everyone at Team RADIX, we hope you've had a fantastic birthday and enjoyed every slice of that well-earned chocolate cake.
Happy Birthday, Shane! 🎉🎂👏
What does a completed ground screw foundation project look like in practice?
We recently visited the Custom Garden Rooms Garden Rooms showroom development at Hemel Hempstead Garden Centre to see the finished project first hand and speak with the team behind it.
The development features a range of fully furnished garden rooms and annex buildings, all supported by RADIX ground screw foundations supplied by RADIX and installed by a local No More Digging partner.
Despite challenging winter weather and waterlogged ground conditions, the foundations were installed in approximately one week using compact hand-held equipment, allowing the garden centre to remain fully operational throughout the works.
The result is a high-quality showroom development completed with minimal disruption, no concrete, and no heavy plant.
Watch the video to hear more from Shane McGivern and Suzie Dawes about the project, the partnership, and why Custom Garden Rooms continues to choose RADIX ground screw foundations.

More changes at RADIX HQ… 👀
The garden room is getting a makeover - and poor Gordon has been given the task of painting over Karen’s beloved black & white wallpaper!
Don’t worry Karen… it won’t be plain white for long.
Big things are coming to this space, and trust us… it’s going to look amazing.

Throwback Thursday 😄
From Peppa Pig jumpers to Sales Executive at RADIX
A very young Cerys - proving she’s been stealing hearts since nursery days ❤️
Fast forward a few years and she’s now helping customers, supporting projects, and keeping Callum on his toes (which we imagine started long before RADIX 😏).
Delivering foundations in a live city centre environment comes with a very different set of pressures.
Restricted access, active pedestrian routes, existing concrete works that could not be disturbed, and buried obstructions below ground all shaped this project at the University of Portsmouth.
RADIX installed 42 screw piles and supporting steel beams for modular buildings, using a low-impact approach suited to confined urban conditions and tight programme requirements.
A good example of where screw pile foundations offer more than speed alone, helping solve access, disruption and constructability challenges in difficult environments.
