SolidPoint
A specialist Surveying company using the best available technology to deliver top notch measured survey information at competitive prices.
We are specialist consultants/surveyors who utilise the latest laser scanning technologies for Measured Building Surveys. We capture billions of precise measurements to form point clouds which are then manually analysed to produce fully parametric and intelligent 3D Building Information Models (BIM). We have used this process on projects across the whole built environment range, including resident

Above shows the Revit model we made from the Topographical Survey our team conducted, allowing the data to be easily integrated into BIM while providing a seamless visual representation for the full combined model.
For projects like this, accurate information early on can make a huge difference to planning, design efficiency, and decision making.
Itβs always great seeing survey data brought to life in a model like this!

Refurbishment projects start with accurate information.
We recently supported with a commercial office project located on Bishopsgate, London with a full measured building survey to support future refurbishment and layout alterations.
Using 3D laser scanning technology, we improved design coordination and reduced risk, time and rework for our client.
A great example of how laser scanning and BIM workflows help projects move forward with confidence.

Boundary disputes can be stressful, especially when things have already become tense.
We recently worked with a client in Nottingham who needed a clear and reliable understanding of their property boundary after ongoing issues with a neighbour.

Looking back at this Point Cloud collaboration with Novum BIM:
The client had this staircase prefabbed in another country, and only noticed that its measurements were not up to UK standards once it was on site and being used.
The survey found that the riser heights on each flight ranged from:
Flight 1 - 150-296mm
Flight 2 - 151-227mm
Flight 3 - 156-237mm
The UK Standard for riser height on semi-public access stairs is a maximum of 170mm.
We also found that the tread depths on each flight ranged from:
Flight 1 - 216-340mm
Flight 2 - 235-285mm
Flight 3 - 247-256mm
The UK Standard for tread depth on semi-public access stairs is a minimum of 250mm.
This survey is one of the best examples to show that cutting costs in the beginning often costs you more in the long-run. The cost of that survey you think is unnecessary, is worth it.

The ex-university building is currently going through a complete strip-out and refurbishment.
Summers-Inman's primary goal was to gain a complete and reliable understanding of the site before progressing with design and construction, which included identifying the position of underground services, capturing accurate land levels, documenting the existing building, and understanding the surrounding context.
We are honoured to have worked on this project, and cannot wait to see the final result!

In this Birmingham project, the original fencing had been replaced multiple times since the 1980s, leaving the true boundary unclear and causing ongoing stress for the homeowner.
We carried out a detailed boundary survey to establish an accurate position, backed by Land Registry plans and precise on site measurements.
The result was a clear, professional report the client can rely on in discussions with their neighbour, and if needed, in a legal setting.
Giving people clarity and confidence in situations like this is exactly why these surveys matter.
