We are for an Assistant Driller at our Derby and Stoke on Trent bases:

The Role:
To assist the Lead Driller with the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs during ground investigation works. The role involves supporting drilling operations, handling equipment, maintaining site safety, and ensuring samples are collected and stored correctly. This is a great opportunity to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:
Assist the Lead Driller with the setup, operation, and dismantling of drilling rigs.
Handle and prepare drilling tools, rods, casings, and sampling equipment.
Support cable percussion and rotary drilling operations.
Assist with the recovery and handling of soil and rock samples (e.g., U100, SPT, core samples).
Maintain a clean and safe working area around the drilling rig.
Help with loading and unloading equipment and materials.
Assist with backfilling boreholes (e.g., bentonite pellets or grout).
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and site regulations.
Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of drilling equipment.
Follow instructions from the Lead Driller and Site Supervisor.
Experience/Qualifications required:
Full driving licence is essential
Flexibility to work in varying locations around the UK
Would suit someone used to working outside in all weather
