Reminder that the Bann HOR entries close at 7pm on 8th October.

International Day of the Girl takes place on Sunday, 11 October.

We’re encouraging rowing clubs to mark the day in a simple but meaningful way.

You could:
• Ask girls what makes them stay in rowing
• Highlight a girl, coach, cox or volunteer on your social media
• Invite girls to lead an activity
• Create time and space to listen to their ideas and experiences

There are lots of ways to get involved. What matters is giving girls a voice and celebrating their contribution to rowing.

If your club is getting involved, share what you’re doing and tag Rowing Ireland. We’d love to see it.

The Bann Head of the River Race takes place on 17th October. Entries close on 8th October. Both flat and coastal entries are welcome. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Northern Ireland Coaches Wanted!

Rowing Ireland is looking for coaches to support indoor rowing in schools across Northern Ireland through our Get Rowing programme.

Full training is provided, and experience working with young people is desirable.

Well done to all our athletes and coaches who took part in the Rowing Ireland 1K Classic this weekend at Lough Rinn. Some tough racing saw the boys taking wins in the following categories:

🏅MJ15 1X Odhran Carey
🏅MJ15 2X J Woods / G McKenna

There was also a lot of close racing in the other finals and the race between Odhran & Jack in the scull went right down to the wire.
It was also a great opportunity for the lads to get some racing experience at the start of the season, which is sure to stand them in great stead for the upcoming head season.

The 2026 Rowing Ireland 1K Classic returns to Lough Rinn this weekend!

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, 682 crews from 39 clubs will take to the water across 42 events.
