I’m Victoria and I’ve been taking photographs seriously since 2009. I have a very unsophisticated addiction to mochas and the garden is my happy place! Having bounced around a bit, I now live and work 10 minutes away from where I grew up in a quiet village on the Wirral/Cheshire border. Over the past 15 years I’ve built a successful wedding photography business, co-founded a veterans' charity with my marvellous Dad, project-managed a couple of house renovations, fundraised £450,000 for a D-Day Veterans' garden at RHS Chelsea, got an MBE from Princess Anne, had two babies in the pandemic, pivoted from weddings to family portraits and began sharing photography tips and tricks to help parents document their day to day lives in a way that leaves them with a beautiful archive of family photographs telling their unique story. All this experience has eventually led me to where I want to be; capturing modern-day memories on old-school film for families of all shapes and sizes. Yes, I did say film! A blast from the past I know, but hear me out. I’ve shot both extensively and to my mind there is no question that medium format film makes more soulful photographs. Last but not least, I ensure that every client I work with has at least one piece of beautifully printed artwork which is destined to become a family treasure. Our photographs are not meant to languish as digital dust on a cloud, they are meant to be artfully printed, shared and enjoyed!

This week I’m diving into all things confidence and shouting out a lot of women in this solo ep… some I’ve been lucky enough to meet and others who have no idea who I am! 😄
Coach • Facilitator
Alex Morgan and Tiffany Sanya Scott
Lauren Currie OBE | Founder | CEO | Speaker 🏴
Pippa Goulden | PR Expert
I also include a very personal love note to my parents, because - as I say in the episode - I don’t tell them often enough how much I appreciate them ❤️
If you’ve ever felt your confidence crack under the story that you’re being “too big for your boots” then this episode is for you! Listen in via the link in stories or by searching for episode 83 wherever you find your podcasts 🎧

S O P H I E C A T T O is on a mission to support women.
Whether that’s women navigating their career through each season of life through her work with AllBright everywoman, women who enter motherhood without their own mum to hold their hand and support them along the way through her work with The Motherless Mothers or women who want to create a beautiful sanctuary to call home through her family business Catto & Co..
Sophie puts purpose at the heart of everything she does, because as a mum of two she feels that every moment she spends away from her children has to be moving the needle towards positive impact.
In this conversation we dug into all the good stuff, from dancing between the corporate and entrepreneur worlds, the common career challenges women face in matrescence and how it feels to become a mum without your mum.

In case you hadn’t clocked this I started the Mum Means Business podcast for my own selfish therapy 😂
But it turns out it’s helping you too and thank you if you’ve ever sent me a DM or voice note to let me know you’ve listened and what landed for you… it means the world ❤️

Over the summer I guested on four podcasts and coincidentally every episode came out last week, which triggered a few old familiar stories… “people are going to be sick to death if you!”
Of course I know you’ve all got far more interesting things to be thinking about 😂 but given that it was International Podcast Day I did a bit of reflecting on how I feel about guesting on other people’s pods now… 18 months after I was interviewed on one for the first time.
It turns out some subjects feel easier to talk about than others!

Imagine if Bridget Jones had been a wedding photographer. Yep 😂
When you’ve been conditioned to work hard, get the grades, meet the knight in shining armour, carve out the glistening career and look effortlessly put together throughout, showing up authentically goes against everything you’ve ever been told. And it’s tough!
What this season of loneliness taught me is that the fairytale doesn’t exist and actually life is more interesting for it.
I don’t want anyone to be “jealous” of the curated version of life on my Instagram feed. So here’s to showing up messy, unfiltered, human and vulnerable ❤️

I felt a bit long in the tooth putting this post together 👵🏻
It’s obviously hugely embarrassing (who uses their own face as a logo?!), but also kind of cute to look back and see how far I’ve come with this photography business of mine.
For years I tried to fit in with everyone else in the industry and it feels so good to finally let a bit of personality shine through 🌈
Having a brand that lifts my spirits every time I look at it is such a joy and I’m so grateful to Liz Mosley - Branding for small businesses for bringing all her creativity and expertise to the table to get me here!
Do go and check out the Liz Mosley if you don’t listen already and let me know in the comments, when did you last do a rebrand? ⬇️
Photography is so accessible now, I think sometimes we forget how magical it is… to literally freeze a split second in time and hold on to it ✨
For me, capturing a moment on film and delivering it in print is more magical still. To create something special in amongst the trillions of digital images we take every year is a beautiful thing.
When was the last time you had your photograph taken on film?
Meet me in the comments ⬇️

Photographers, how do you respond to this?
I’m moving out of my smile and move on era into my witty retort era and need some inspiration!
PS - Thanks to Molly Matcham and Adobe Express for these images, I can’t take credit for any of them 🙃
