After 12 years of unwavering dedication, compassion and commitment, today we say goodbye to an incredible colleague.

Over the years, Lowri has supported not hundreds, but thousands of people on their journey out of homelessness. Her kindness, professionalism and determination have made a lasting difference to so many lives, and her impact on Huggard will be felt for many years to come.

While we are incredibly sad to see her leave, we couldn't be happier for her as she begins an exciting new chapter. Between raising her wonderful family and working alongside her husband in their businesses, we have a feeling life certainly won't be getting any quieter!

Lowri, thank you for everything you have given over the past 12 years. Your dedication has helped transform countless lives, and we are immensely grateful for all you have achieved.

Celebrating Our Incredible Volunteers!

Today, we want to recognise and thank the amazing volunteers who give their time, energy, compassion, and dedication to supporting our aims.

From preparing meals in the kitchen, cleaning and maintaining our facilities, engaging with clients, supporting our café, helping with events and more every role plays a vital part in making a difference.

Volunteers are the heart of our charity. They bring kindness, understanding, and a sense of community to those who need it most. Their willingness to step forward and help others creates a welcoming environment where people can access support, dignity, and hope.

The impact of volunteering extends far beyond the tasks completed each day. Every conversation, every meal served, every clean space, and every smile shared helps change lives.

To all our volunteers, thank you!. Your commitment, generosity, and passion inspire us every day. We simply couldn't do what we do without you.

Who doesn't love a roast?

14 months ago, we adopted Bob & Ethel, two feral cats, through Cats Protection, and look at them now !

They’re truly living their best lives and have become a much loved part of Huggard.

While they only allow a chosen few the privilege of a stroke, they’re always nearby. They never try to come inside, but without fail they’ll appear at the window before or after mealtimes to say hello.

We've been featured in a video showcasing some of the projects that Skills & Volunteering Cymru - SVC have been supporting and collaborating with.

Every week student volunteers from SVC come and run a social session in our day centre. The team have a fantastic impact from BBQs and celebrations (like in the video) to simple moments having a cuppa and a chat.

A recent project of ours has been supporting clients to create artwork for the walls of a ✨️brand new✨️ Cardiff and Vale Health Inclusion Service hub.

19 pieces were created, all by people experiencing homelessness. The artwork was professionally framed and displayed - This was a massive confidence boost to the artists, many of whom had never painted before.

During the opening ceremony the artists were thanked and presented with gift vouchers by councillor Lynda Thorne.

It was an amazing outcome to a really fun and rewarding project!
