Temp sensor and fault codes logged by ECU assumed to be a faulty module 🤔
Dash lit up like a Christmas tree, engine still running without the key, bad control module like the scanner reads and was diagnosed as faulty by a previous garage or a costly assumption and mis diagnosis 🤔🤔
Ignition off engine still running....switch not activating fuel cut off solanoid.... narrowed down to an incorrectly fitted bulb in rear lights backfeeding power to the ignition switch which is why engine stopped when lights switched off 👍
Power failure to control module, communication lost with abs esr traction control and hill assist..... main Body earthing point under headlight corroded and causing a short to ground for the module that feeds power to all the above functions
Temp gauge not working - bad sensor in cylinder head reading minus 40 when tested through live data
No main dealer computers needed or specialist recoding required, just good old fashioned trial and error/common sense
I do love a little challenge to keep it fresh 😍😍👍
Bank holiday Monday evening call out to an accidental key lockout problem, unfortunately they were the other side of the loading door protected by slam locks and there wasn't a spare set, unless your a key or an angle grinder it aint happening without a fight, they work!!

No rest for the wicked on bank holiday Monday😍😍
this mornings brake overhaul and wear indicator wiring fault fixed down on marshbarton, all set for action first thing in the morning ready for work with the rest of the fleet 👍

One movano repaired and returned to plymouth ready to be put to work bright and early tomorrow morning
one transit waiting for me to get home in tonight and then first thing tomorrow I need to get cracking on sorting an electrical problem Ive pre diagnosed
Once it's sorted off I go to plymouth and pick up another van in need ready for the weekends workload😍😍😍 what a successful week this is turning out to be so far, long may it continue 👍

2 diagnosed on site today for me to price up ready for repairs soon..... LAST OF THE 3 JOBS.... bring this beauty home with me to diagnose/fix gearbox fault as top priority, looks like it's going to be a busy few weeks 👍

Vehicle number 2 diagnostics EGR fault putting van into limp, inlet clogged needs stripping cleaning and service, intermittent starter motor not engaging fault diagnosed as poor/worn starter from visual inspection of loom and battery condition then directly testing the starter itself (bench test)👍
Live Wiring short to ground, more further down under headlight by the looks of it

Busy day in Plymouth today diagnosing a fleet of vans for a top customer who insisted I popped down rather than get a more local firm to do his mechanical work, because of the service recieved and confidence he has in my workmanship 😍😍 RESPECT and MUCH LOVE SIR .... Here was vehicle 1 electrical short to control module/abs module , see video for suspected fault in wiring.....

A few pics of the work so far on an ongoing restoration in between jobs,condemned original 2.5 fiat engine out which are hard to find these days and generally underpowered and unreliable ready for a transplant with a Much more bombproof accessable 1.9td xud engine that dominated most of the citroen/peugeot diesel range from the 80s-early 2000s which should be plenty of horses to pull this old snail compared to it's old original dead donkey 😍😍 I do love a bit of a challenge to keep things interesting 👍
