The rocks stay in place. The world around them changes.

At Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick, the Bay of Fundy’s tides transform the shoreline. At low tide, the exposed ocean floor reveals the bases of the towering formations. At high tide, water surrounds them.

The park recommends seeing both stages to appreciate the difference—and checking tide times before exploring the ocean floor.

Maintenance doesn’t stop when the workplace is in orbit.

Dextre, Canada’s versatile space robot, has served the International Space Station since 2008. Its two arms can handle tasks such as installing and replacing equipment outside the station.

That work helps reduce the need for some astronaut spacewalks.

It’s another example of Canadian robotics doing careful, practical work in an extraordinary setting.

Did you know Canadarm wasn’t Canada’s only robotic contribution to space?

It feels as though it has always been there.

But Canada’s red-and-white maple leaf flag has a clear starting point: February 15, 1965, when it was raised on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

Today, its simple design is familiar on schools, boats, backpacks and buildings across the country—and far beyond it.

For some Canadians, that first raising is still a personal memory.

Do you remember the flag’s arrival, or hearing about it from your family?

The Québec Bridge carries its weight through an immense framework of steel.

Its main span measures 549 metres between the principal piers. The structure is a cantilever bridge, using projecting arms and a central suspended section rather than the cables of a suspension bridge.

The scale is impressive from a distance. Up close, the steelwork tells an engineering story of its own.

Have you crossed it—or admired it from the shore?

A white tower, a red lantern, and the Atlantic beyond it.

The present lighthouse at Peggy’s Point was built in 1915, replacing an earlier light at the site. Its work was practical: helping support navigation and the fishing communities along the coast.

Over time, its familiar outline also became closely associated with Nova Scotia itself.

Have you seen Peggy’s Cove in person, or is it still on your list?

Letter. Number. Letter. Then number, letter, number.

Canadian postal codes follow a six-character pattern, usually written with a space between the two groups of three. Canada Post uses them to help sort and deliver mail.

It’s a small detail we write so often that we can forget there’s a system behind it.

The first half identifies a broader sorting area; the second helps narrow the destination.

Do you still remember your childhood postal code?

Some flavours bring a place back before you’ve even taken a second bite.

Saskatoon berry pie is a familiar treat in Saskatchewan, where local kitchens and eateries put the dark berries beneath a golden crust.

Maybe your memory is a family recipe, a roadside stop, or the first slice someone insisted you try. Food has a way of keeping those moments close.

Have you tried saskatoon berry pie—and do you take yours with ice cream?

Some ideas begin with a problem you’re tired of having.

Alex Tilley wanted a better sailing hat—one suited to life outdoors. In 1980, he founded Tilley Endurables, building a Canadian story around a practical, durable hat.

For many travellers, a well-worn hat becomes part of the trip itself: sunlight, rain, photographs, and memories folded into the brim.

Do you own a hat that has travelled almost everywhere with you?
