With the evolution of shopping in the 20th and 21st centuries as its focus, the issue looks at the shop as a central nexus where communities and identities are continuously produced and re-imagined through commerce. With a special attention to the role of fashion retail within urban spatial politics, we seek out histories of projects—often developed with or by artists—that have embraced the shop as a medium of both possibility and contestation.

In 33 TOUCH, artist and longtime Visionaire contributor interprets twenty of our favorite new looks from the fall/winter 2000-2001 collections, which were all about excess and sensory overload. Flocking, foil stamping, sculpt-embossing, and honeycomb extension give the feeling in print of fur over metallic lace over sequins over a dress with leather appliques over patterned stockings. Our collaborator Fendi’s tactile ready-to-wear collection that season was a key source of inspiration. The unbound illustrations were wrapped in a wearable pony-skin cache-col and housed in a brushed-gold metal box. Highlights include designs by , , , , and .

The fourth volume of .magazine is dedicated to the eye-catching photographs of Gösta Peterson.

Editor-in-Chief Christopher Niquet first encountered the work of at his daughter's gallery in New York City and has since been looking for ways to share his images with a larger audience of fashion and photography lovers.

Gösta "Gus" Peterson, (April 25, 1923– July 28, 2017) was a Swedish-American photographer whose images were widely published in the editorial pages of Harper’s Bazaar, Mademoiselle and The New York Times amongst many others.

In the 1960s, Bea Feitler the former Art Director for Harper’s Bazaar, Ms and Rolling Stone said, "The most interesting fashion pages now – the ones that say the most about our times – are Gösta Peterson’s for Mademoiselle." Photographer Duane Michels called him, “underrated.”

The issue also includes a fashion insert photographed by Marie Deteneuille and styled by Sarah de Mavaleix with model Malgosia Bela.

As exemplified in the series of events that birthed moments of unrest and protest in 2020, the strength and Resilience of the people can lose its meaning on the conveyor belt of false promises that conglomerates and institutions readily provide. How do we start conversations around the misappropriation of collective Resilience? And who is to be held accountable? How do we begin the conversation around reparations? These are the questions we would like to investigate and unpack in the hope that we can begin to find some healing.
