Yogurt Frozen instead of Frozen Yogurt? Say what??
Here's what we mean: frozen yogurt brand, Cloud 9, took to the clouds to freeze their yogurt in this innovative campaign…

Talk about bringing "all things digital" together: the blogosphere, video, social media, all working cohesively to personalize a brand experience. Who wouldn't want to boast on Twitter about a bucket of frozen yogurt frozen in the sky with your name on it, and delivered straight to your door afterwards?

Gay marriage has been a major issue in France in 2013. And many of the demonstrations, both pro and against, are happening right here in our neighborhood in Bastille.
It's now been legalized, and we're proud of this country for taking that step.
But before all this, technology played a significant role in helping same s*x couples in France get married. Google and Ogilvy Paris utilized Google Hangouts to marry couples live, online with mayors from Belgium, where same s*x marriage was already legal. Check it out..

Pretty great. Social platforms like Google Hangouts can make the impossible, POSSIBLE, by finding solutions to REAL problems in the world.
Just another reason Big Fish is behind social media, and helping our clients find solutions to THEIR problems…

Big Fish is taking you to Norway, where hardware brand Jordan Painting Tools has aided one young Norwegian man in realizing his dream by helping him build an Italian piazza in his local village to propose to his girlfriend. After all, what's more romantic than an Italian piazza — even in a small village in Norway. Watch..

And, the video has gone viral. And it's because of one reason: it resonated with consumers. It's not just about selling paint and hardware products and services. It's about engaging viewers on a deeper level, truly warming the heart of the viewer. And of course, YouTube's global audience of 800 million unique visits per month didn't hurt as the receiving end.
As far as the medium and the message go, this is a total marketing gem. Campaigns like this one are what lead people not only to product loyalty, but to true brand loyalty.
Amazing Norwegian proposal! Watch Daniel and a tiny Norwegian community turn the small island of Røvær into a little piece of Italy. Epic reaction from the bride to be. Made possible by...

Instagram is yet another social medium that is becoming business-friendly. Heard about their new tagging options? It allows User A to tag User B, allowing User B to potentially share that photo with their audience if they decide to post to their feed. The result? An exponential increase in audience, and the potential to go viral.
http://bit.ly/12wkyhO
This new development is certainly consumer-friendly, allowing people to engage with other more directly. But we have a suspicion this new product development was specifically so that big brands could gain visibility.
And why not? Social Media SHOULD be used for businesses, as long as it's ethical, community-oriented and NOT solely to push the brand.

Have you heard? Domino's has installed live webcams in their kitchens so that online customers can watch their pizza being made from scratch. Check it out…
http://bit.ly/12VE2ir
Clearly the pizza juggernaut is aiming to be more transparent and rid themselves of any brand identity associated with "cheap, fast food". We say, job well done for the transparency. It builds trust and brand loyalty that yield strong brand-customer relationships.
But we gotta ask: do their customers really care? When you're ordering Domino's, you kind of know what you're in for: delicious, albeit fast, food. Tell us, would you spend the time online watching YOUR pizza be made?

Big Fish's Managing Partner, Alex Goodman, guest blogged for our client, Cynthia Paulauskas, an up and coming author who focuses on the power of global travel in one's life.
This blog post is all about the difference between traveling to a place, and actually living there. Is there really a difference?
Take a read and share your thoughts..

These days when lines of the digital and real worlds are diminishing, businesses are starting to take their social media to a whole new level.
Budweiser, using bluetooth technology in their "Buddy Cups" allows you to become friends on Facebook every time you cheers your glass of beer with a fellow party-er.
Way to go Budweiser! What a genius way to make social media tangible, and not just something we do behind the computer screen. We wonder how many people will be keen to give away their personal details while boozing?

Hopefully a lot. Relating digital marketing to real life is the next step in this infusion of technology into every minute of our lives.
At Big Fish, it's a challenge we face often, and meet with fervor and creativity.

Don't be such a baby! Unless, of course, you're featured in Evian's new Baby & Me campaign. Take a watch..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfxB5ut-KTs
The campaign features not only these cute ads, but an app where users are able to create very own baby version of…themselves!
Much like the recent Dove campaign, Evian has succeeded in engaging consumers in their brand without actually TALKING about their brand. No self-promotion here, or touting of more pure, fresh water. It's just about entertaining.
And as a result, we engage with the campaign, and ultimately engage with the brand.

An exceptional story where, thanks to social media, "the old and boring" becomes: "the new hip".
Ball Mason Jars, a 125 year old brand, was up until recently not doing well in the marketplace. But after re-allocating marketing dollars to social media and event marketing, as opposed to an ad in the standard cooking magazine, sales are up 20%.
Their Pinterest presence, particularly, has received lots of attention. And it's well-deserved: they've cunningly utilized the social medium to promote DIY ideas, for instance, how to turn a simple jar into a chandelier, air-freshener or bathroom accessory.

Way to go Ball! What a smart move. With social media and some creativity, results are big with relatively low financial expense.

Heard of Sponsored Stories? It's another ad unit that Facebook offers on their advertising platform, where brands can pay for a post on their Fan Page to be served up to the FB audience while they're surfing.
But does it really work? The common response is yes, but only if your goal is to grow Likes on your Fan Page. When Big Fish manages an ad campaign on Facebook, we focus on understanding the interests of your potential Fans. And when you garner that new Like, the next steps is proper community management to engage users, and drives sales.
Facebook Advertising is a tricky space to maneuver. So when you invest your money, make sure you hire the RIGHT person to manage it.

As a part of our service offering, Big Fish manages writing blog posts for some of our clients. But, the number one goal is to represent them not through self-promotion, but through thought leadership, whereby we present a new perspective on a topic that incorporates points of view directly FROM the brand we're writing for.

Hiring digital content professionals is a smart move, as long as it's done ethically and strategically.
