We had the pleasure of welcoming welding master students from WIFI Oberösterreich for an immersive experience focused on orbital welding technologies, automation and advanced TIG solutions.
From live demonstrations to technical discussions, the visit was a great opportunity to exchange knowledge and showcase how innovation, precision and productivity are shaping the future of welding industries.

PLASMA WELDING FOR GIGANTIC TANKS: 6m diam. Stainless steel tank production with simultaneous Plasma Arc Welding (PAW) and TIG/GPAW welding up to 350mm/min for 4mm SS sheets!
In fact, PAW excels at creating deep welds such as “keyhole” pe*******on in a single pass, making it ideal for root passes in thicker materials (up to 10mm) at quite a substantial speed of 220mm/min. However, for walls exceeding 10mm, TIG/ GPAW welding comes into play for hot wire filling and completing the weld in thicker sections of container tanks (up to 15mm – speed @ 135mm/min). Used in container tanks production for example like in our customer’s project here.
For walls exceeding 10mm, associated with PAW, TIG welding comes into play for several reasons:
🌐 Process control: TIG/ GPAW welding offers more precise control overheat input and weld pool size compared to PAW.
🔥 Multiple passes: While PAW can weld thicker materials in some cases, TIG welding allows for creating multiple welds passes in a controlled manner. 💥
⚡ Innovative solutions: unique magnetic oscillation technology generating sewing-like frequencies for exceptional 2G welds. The frequency of magnetic oscillation exceeds that of mechanical frequencies, defying the law of gravity. 🧲✨
🔍 Filling capability: PAW's deep pe*******on creates a narrow "keyhole" weld. TIG welding, with its controlled heat input and filler metal addition, is better suited for filling the larger volume of weld required in thicker sections 🛠️✨

TIG cladding - redefined through dual-arc performance.
(Re)discover TIGer, the bi-cathode TIG process developed by POLYSOUDE to combine productivity and weld quality in demanding cladding applications.
By using two tungsten electrodes in tandem, TIGer creates two arcs that merge into a single, stable heat source, increasing deposition rate and travel speed while maintaining control.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀:
▪ Higher cladding speeds (up to 1200–1500 mm/min) with deposition rates up to 6.0 kg/h
