À trois semaines du top départ de The Ocean Race Atlantic, ce convoyage transatlantique s’annonce comme le galop d’essai idéal pour le Team MSIG Europe. L’occasion parfaite pour consolider les automatismes en équipage, régler l’IMOCA Globe Series en configuration course et inaugurer sa toute nouvelle Grand-voile fraîchement sortie de l’atelier OneSails International 💨⛵

After an intense week on the hard and a solid block of training on the water, Conrad, Megan, Anna, and Aaron cast off last Sunday, heading straight for the US East Coast.

With just three weeks to go until The Ocean Race Atlantic kicks off, this transatlantic delivery is the ultimate dry run for Team MSIG Europe. The perfect chance to lock in crew work, dial in the IMOCA in full race mode, and break in the brand-new One Sails mainsail straight out of the loft🪡

🇫🇷 // The Ocean Race Atlantic : Conrad dévoile son équipage 💥
Pour cette première édition au départ de New York, le skipper réunit un équipage 100 % kiwi de très haut niveau. Trois talents incontournables de la voile néo-zélandaise, Megan Thomson, Anna Merchant et Aaron Hume-Merry navigueront à ses côtés avec un solide palmarès à leur actif, prêts à signer leurs premiers milles en IMOCA Globe Series.

L'équipe sera complétée par Georgia Schofield, qui embarquera comme OBR officielle pour nous faire vivre la course de l'intérieur.

Seul bateau à dérives face aux foilers de dernière génération, le team MSIG Europe abordera ce défi avec humilité, mais avec la ferme ambition d'apprendre et de poser les fondations d'Aotearoa Ocean Racing, le projet porté par Conrad pour reconnecter la Nouvelle-Zélande avec la course au large dans le circuit des monocoques.

« Je suis très enthousiaste de naviguer avec ces jeunes Kiwis motivés et de leur transmettre mon expérience du large. C'est une étape importante pour construire la suite du projet. »

🇳🇿🇺🇸 // The Ocean Race Atlantic: Conrad reveals all-Kiwi crew 🔥

Starting from New York, the skipper is assembling a powerhouse 100% Kiwi crew. Three top-tier talents of New Zealand sailing, Megan Thomson, Anna Merchant, and Aaron Hume-Merry join forces with Conrad, bringing solid track records as they get ready to rack up their very first IMOCA miles.

The line-up is complete with Georgia Schofield stepping onboard as official Onboard Reporter to take us behind the scenes of the race.

As the only daggerboard boat lined up against latest-generation foilers, Team MSIG Europe approaches this challenge with humility, but a fierce drive to learn and lay the foundations for Aotearoa Ocean Racing, Conrad’s ambition to reconnect New Zealand with elite offshore racing.

Entre un chantier express, une mise à l’eau rondement menée, un convoyage vers La Haye et la sélection finale des équipiers pour The Ocean Race Atlantic, le rythme a été... soutenu ces derniers mois !

L’occasion parfaite pour Conrad de s’octroyer une escapade en famille, plus que méritée, dans le centre de la France.

L’objectif : recharger les batteries avant les prochaines échéances. Mais même en vacances, le mode « skipper » n’est jamais vraiment désactivé !

« J’ai quand même trouvé un point d’eau pour y mettre les pieds dedans !!! » 😂

Between a lightning-fast refit, a flawless launch, a delivery up to The Hague, and locking in the final crew lineup for The Ocean Race Atlantic, the pace has been absolutely relentless lately! 🥵

The perfect excuse for Conrad to head down to Central France for a well-deserved family getaway.

The goal? Recharging the batteries before the next big pushes. But even on holiday, you can’t just switch off "skipper mode".

La semaine dernière, Conrad et son équipe se sont rendus aux Pays-Bas pour un moment privilégié avec les invités MSIG Europe.

Une belle occasion de découvrir l'univers de la course au large et de partager le quotidien du bord le temps d'une journée.

Last week, Conrad and the team headed to the Netherlands for an exclusive sailing day with the guests of MSIG Europe.

It was the perfect opportunity to give them a taste of offshore racing and a firsthand look at life onboard with the crew.

A massive thank you to everyone for the warm welcome and the fantastic energy!

Now, it’s back to training for the Kiwi skipper as his brand-new crew begins to take shape... 🤫🇳🇿

🇫🇷 // Retour aux affaires 👊🏼

Après deux jours de manutention millimétrée, l’IMOCA Globe Series MSIG Europe a retrouvé son élément de prédilection et rejoint son port d’attache Kernevel, Larmor-Plage.

Un grand bravo à l’ensemble de l’équipe technique pour avoir rondement mené cette opération !

Déjà dans les starting-blocks, Conrad est fin prêt à renouer avec le large. Une bonne étape de franchie, et encore quelques-unes à venir avant le départ vers New York cet été !

After two days of high-precision handling, the IMOCA MSIG Europe is back in her element and safely tied up at her home port of Kernevel, Larmor-Plage.

Huge credit to the entire technical team for a seamless operation 🛠️👏🏼

Already in the starting blocks, Conrad is ready to head back out to sea. One major milestone checked, and a few more to go before setting sail for New York this summer.
