USP Workforce Development Training Unit

The Workforce Development and Training Unit of USP’s Pacific TAFE recently completed a customised training program, 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫-𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 & 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬, for Vision Investment Limited on 29–30 September.

Designed specifically for sales representatives, this in-house program focused on strengthening contemporary sales and customer service capabilities to support stronger customer relationships and improved sales performance.

Key areas covered included:

🔹 Customer-centric selling and understanding customer needs
🔹 Effective communication, questioning and active listening
🔹 Building trust and long-term customer relationships
🔹 Handling objections and challenging customer interactions
🔹 Contemporary sales techniques, negotiation and closing strategies

Through practical discussions, activities, and real-world sales scenarios, participants had opportunities to reflect on their current approaches, strengthen their customer engagement skills, and identify practical strategies that can be applied in their day-to-day sales roles.

The Workforce Development and Training Unit of USP’s Pacific TAFE recently completed a customised 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 training program for Solomon Power, delivered over four weeks in September.

Delivered through a blended mode combining face-to-face and online learning, this in-house program engaged 35 participants and was tailored to strengthen operations management knowledge and practical workplace capabilities, focusing on:

· Operations planning and coordination
· Process improvement and operational efficiency
· Resource and workflow management
· Quality and performance management
· Problem-solving and effective operational decision-making

The Workforce Development and Training Unit of USP’s Pacific TAFE recently completed customised 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 training for TotalEnergies Fiji on 24 and 25 September 2026.

The two-day in-house training was tailored to strengthen participants’ Excel capabilities and enhance the effective use of data in their day-to-day work. The training focused on:

· Applying intermediate and advanced formulas and functions
· Organising, managing and analysing workplace data
· Using PivotTables and PivotCharts for data analysis and reporting
· Creating charts and visualisations to present information effectively
· Using Excel tools and techniques to improve efficiency and workplace productivity

Through practical exercises and workplace-focused activities, participants were able to build on their existing Excel knowledge and develop skills that can be applied directly in their respective roles. Participants were awarded certificates upon successful completion of the training. 🎓
