The Workforce Development and Training Unit of USPโs Pacific TAFE successfully delivered the public short course training session on ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ (๐๐) ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ on 18th June at USP - Lautoka Campus.
Participants gained practical skills and knowledge in:
โข Understand what artificial intelligence is and how it can support workplace productivity
โข Recognise common types of AI tools used in modern organisations
โข Use AI tools to draft, rewrite, summarise, brainstorm, and organise work more efficiently
โข Write better prompts to get more accurate, relevant, and useful results from AI systems
โข Apply AI to common workplace tasks such as emails, reports, presentations, meeting notes, research, and task planning.
โข Identify appropriate AI tools for different productivity needs
โข Integrate appropriate AI tools for different productivity needs
โข Recognise the risks, limitations, and ethical considerations of AI use at work.
โข Develop practical strategies for using AI responsibly to save time and improve output quality.

โข Apply practical approaches to managing property operations and maintenance.
โข Improve service delivery and stakeholder satisfaction in property-related environments.
โข Manage contractors and outsourced services more effectively.
โข Use property information and performance measures to support decision-making.
โข Recognise key risks, compliance requirements, and asset protection responsibilities.
โข Appreciate the importance of budgeting, cost awareness, and lifecycle thinking.
โข Develop practical ideas to improve property management in their own workplace.

The Workforce Development and Training Unit of USPโs Pacific TAFE recently completed a customised ๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐๐ฌ ๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ training for the Water Authority of Fiji team from 03 to 05 June.
This in-house program was tailored to address specific organisational needs and skills gaps, focusing on:
โข Understand basic OHS principles
โข Identify workplace hazards
โข Apply basic risk assessment methods
โข Follow safe work practices
โข Understand regulations and laws around workplace health and safety.
We commend the Water Authority of Fiji team for their enthusiastic participation and commitment to professional development.

The Workforce Development and Training Unit of USPโs Pacific TAFE continues its commitment to organisational upskilling and staff professional development across the region. This week, we are in Vanuatu and have successfully delivered a customised ๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง & ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ฑ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ training programme for staff of the University of the South Pacific (USP) from 04th to 05th June.
Delivered as part of USPโs broader organisational development efforts to strengthen workplace capabilities and service excellence, this programme was tailored to address specific organisational needs and skills gaps, focusing on:
โข Delivering high-quality customer service
โข Communicating professionally and confidently in workplace interactions
โข Applying best practices for clear, effective, and respectful email communication
โข Handling difficult customers and challenging situations with professionalism
โข Using appropriate tone, language, and body language in different scenarios
โข Building positive relationships with customers and colleagues through effective communication
The programme provided participants with practical skills and strategies to enhance their daily interactions, contribute to a positive customer experience, and support a culture of professionalism across the University.
