The Workforce Development and Training Unit of USPโ€™s Pacific TAFE successfully delivered the public short course training session on ๐€๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž (๐€๐ˆ) ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ on 18th June at USP - Lautoka Campus.

Participants gained practical skills and knowledge in:
โ€ข Understand what artificial intelligence is and how it can support workplace productivity
โ€ข Recognise common types of AI tools used in modern organisations
โ€ข Use AI tools to draft, rewrite, summarise, brainstorm, and organise work more efficiently
โ€ข Write better prompts to get more accurate, relevant, and useful results from AI systems
โ€ข Apply AI to common workplace tasks such as emails, reports, presentations, meeting notes, research, and task planning.
โ€ข Identify appropriate AI tools for different productivity needs
โ€ข Integrate appropriate AI tools for different productivity needs
โ€ข Recognise the risks, limitations, and ethical considerations of AI use at work.
โ€ข Develop practical strategies for using AI responsibly to save time and improve output quality.

The Workforce Development and Training Unit of USPโ€™s Pacific TAFE recently completed a customised ๐Ž๐‡๐’ ๐Œ๐จ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ˆ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ˆ๐ˆ training for the Water Authority of Fiji team from 03 to 05 June.

This in-house program was tailored to address specific organisational needs and skills gaps, focusing on:
โ€ข Understand basic OHS principles
โ€ข Identify workplace hazards
โ€ข Apply basic risk assessment methods
โ€ข Follow safe work practices
โ€ข Understand regulations and laws around workplace health and safety.

We commend the Water Authority of Fiji team for their enthusiastic participation and commitment to professional development.

This week, we are in Vanuatu and have successfully delivered a customised ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง & ๐‚๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ซ ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐„๐ฑ๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž training programme for staff of the University of the South Pacific (USP) from 04th to 05th June.

Delivered as part of USPโ€™s broader organisational development efforts to strengthen workplace capabilities and service excellence, this programme was tailored to address specific organisational needs and skills gaps, focusing on:

โ€ข Delivering high-quality customer service
โ€ข Communicating professionally and confidently in workplace interactions
โ€ข Applying best practices for clear, effective, and respectful email communication
โ€ข Handling difficult customers and challenging situations with professionalism
โ€ข Using appropriate tone, language, and body language in different scenarios
โ€ข Building positive relationships with customers and colleagues through effective communication

The programme provided participants with practical skills and strategies to enhance their daily interactions, contribute to a positive customer experience, and support a culture of professionalism across the University.
