Round 4 of the Skipper Cup Competition brought an exciting clash between Kadavu Rugby Union and Malolo Rugby Union at Namalata Central School Ground, with Kadavu proudly hosting the visitors. Both teams arrived well prepared and determined to secure the win.

The first half was closely contested, with Kadavu taking a narrow 7–5 lead into halftime. After the break, both teams regrouped and returned to the field stronger, more focused, and determined to take control of the match. Malolo came back with a refreshed lineup and renewed energy, putting pressure on the Kadavu defence.

Kadavu responded with a crucial try and a successful conversion, while Malolo kept the scoreboard moving through excellent penalty kicks. In the end, Malolo held on to secure an 18–14 victory in a hard-fought encounter.

It was a match filled with excitement, determination, and plenty of tension, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.
Round 5 will have Malolo Rugby Union take on Ba rugby union at Churchill Park while Kadavu Rugby Union will take on Lautoka Rugby Union also at Churchill Park, in Lautoka.

The Kadavu Rugby Union confirms that, following consultation and agreement with relevant stakeholders, our remaining three home games will now be played on Viti Levu.

This decision has not been taken lightly. We were immensely proud to make history by bringing the Skipper Cup home to Kadavu, and nothing compares to playing before our people on our own home soil.

However, the welfare and safety of our players, visiting teams, supporters and the travelling public must come first.

Continued wet weather, rough seas and strong winds have made maritime travel increasingly difficult and uncertain. With ongoing weather warnings from the Fiji Meteorological Service, we believe the responsible decision is to heed those warnings rather than encourage hundreds of people to travel by sea in unsafe or unpredictable conditions.

Our supporters travelling from Viti Levu to Kadavu are affected, and so too are our own people travelling by boat from around the island to attend matches.

Rugby is important, but no game is more important than a life.

Bringing our remaining home fixtures back to Viti Levu gives our teams and supporters greater certainty and safer access by road. With the school holidays also upon us, it provides an opportunity for families and our large Kadavu community on Viti Levu to come together and support our teams.

Our first relocated home fixture will be Kadavu versus Lautoka this Saturday at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

We are calling on the Kadavu family throughout the Western Division, Suva and across Viti Levu to come out in numbers.

To our people in Lautoka, Nadi, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki and throughout the West — this is your opportunity to become our home crowd.

Our teams have carried the Kadavu name with courage, discipline and pride. Now they need us behind them.

We may have moved the venue, but we have not moved the Vanua. Wherever Kadavu plays, Kadavu is home.

Come with your families. Bring your flags. Wear our colors. Bring the noise and stand behind our valiant teams as they take on Lautoka.
