STEM Synergy, in collaboration with Kotebe University of Education, proudly marked the successful completion of a three-month Girls’ STEM Camp alongside the 14th Science, Technology, and Innovation Fair.

The Girls’ STEM Camp delivered intensive weekend training for female secondary school students in Digital Skills, Electronics, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence—equipping them with practical, hands-on experience and inspiring them to pursue future careers in STEM.

The closing ceremony was celebrated alongside the 14th Science, Technology, and Innovation Fair, where students showcased their innovative projects, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The event highlighted the incredible potential of young girls when given the right opportunities, mentorship, and learning environment.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our valued partners, especially the Diplomatic Spouses Group of Ethiopia (DSGE), for their generous sponsorship and commitment to advancing girls’ education in STEM. We also thank Kotebe University of Education, the STEM Center Directorate, trainers, and mentors for their dedication and support.

STEM Synergy, in collaboration with Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, successfully conducted and concluded a three-month weekend Girls STEM Camp focused on digital skills, electronics, and artificial intelligence (AI).
The program brought together 30 secondary school students from both public and private schools, offering them consistent, hands-on learning every weekend. Through guided projects, mentorship, and practical sessions, participants developed strong skills in coding, basic electronics, and AI concepts while enhancing their creativity and problem-solving abilities.
The closing ceremony marked a significant milestone, celebrating the commitment and achievements of the students over the three-month journey. Participants showcased their innovative projects and shared their experiences, highlighting the impact of sustained, practical STEM learning.
STEM Synergy continues to empower young girls by providing inclusive and impactful learning opportunities that prepare them to thrive in the ever-evolving world of science and technology.

Girls’ STEM Camp in Action!

The Girls’ STEM Camp, a three-month intensive program, has been successfully running for the past one and a half months at Kotebe University of Education (KUE) and Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU).

A total of 60 young girls actively engaged in STEM learning at both campuses.

The camp provides hands-on training focused on:
Digital Skills – coding, computational thinking, and digital literacy
Electronics – basic circuits, components, and practical applications
Robotics – designing, building, and programming robotic systems
Through collaborative projects and mentorship, participants are building confidence, strengthening problem-solving skills, and exploring future pathways in science, technology, and engineering.

Girls’ STEM Camp Launched at Kotebe University of Education

STEM Synergy, in collaboration with Kotebe University of Education (KUE), has officially launched a three-month Girls’ STEM Camp focusing on Digital Skills, Electronics, and Artificial Intelligence for 30 high school students.

The launching event featured inspiring keynote messages and guidance from STEM Synergy Country Director, Ato Abiyot Lakew; KUE Vice President for Research and Community Engagement, Dr. Tewodros Mulugeta; STEM Center Coordinator, Mr. Sintayehu Alemnew; and Prof. Mirjana Povic, Astrophysicist at the Space Science and Geospatial Institute, who encouraged the trainees to confidently pursue STEM pathways.

The training will be delivered on weekends from January 3 to March 29, 2026, providing hands-on learning and mentorship to equip participants with future-ready skills.
This program is funded by the Diplomatic Spouses Group Ethiopia (DSGE) – Project Matrix Team, whose generous support is making it possible to expand opportunities for girls in STEM.

Together, we are empowering young women, narrowing the gender gap in STEM, and nurturing Ethiopia’s future innovators.
