Alphatec Engineering
Since 1977 we have been repairing foundations, installing new machinery, aligning, and regrouting all kinds of Reciprocating and Rotating Machinery.

The machinery is green. The foundation should be too. 🟢
This compressor is built to perform. But what it is sitting on matters just as much as what is inside it.
Standard cement grout shrinks on curing, absorbs process fluids, and degrades under the dynamic loads of continuously operating rotating equipment. AT800 epoxy grout does not.
12,000 PSI compressive strength. Zero shrinkage on curing. Full chemical resistance to petroleum products, acids, and alkalis.
The machine deserves a foundation built to the same standard.
Alphatec supplies AT800 epoxy grout and provides precision foundation grouting services for compressors, turbines, pumps, and generators across 50+ countries.

Alphatec's technical paper on epoxy grout and compressor foundation performance has been published in COMPRESSORtech2. 📊
"The Role of Epoxy Grout in Enhancing Compressor Foundation Performance" examines how foundation condition directly affects compressor reliability, and why epoxy grout specification matters more than most maintenance programmes account for.

Looseness is one of the most misdiagnosed faults in rotating equipment.
Equipment-related failures account for more than 35% of unplanned downtime incidents in manufacturing. The average cost hit $260,000 per hour in 2024.
A significant proportion of those failures trace back to structural looseness, loose bolts, baseplate instability, foundation movement, that conventional vibration analysis routinely misreads as bearing faults or rotor issues. 📊
The root cause stays in place. The repair cycle repeats.
Motion Amplification® resolves this. Every pixel becomes an independent sensor. Structural movement that is invisible to the naked eye becomes visible on screen, exactly where it is, exactly how it is moving.
Alphatec uses Motion Amplification® as part of our vibration monitoring service. Where it identifies foundation or baseplate movement, we provide the rehabilitation services to address it directly. ⚙️

Market insight: The global rotating equipment MRO market is projected to reach $20.4 billion this year, largely driven by the aging infrastructure crisis hitting plants worldwide. 📊
(Source: Business Research Insights, April 2026)
The $20bn MRO trap: is it the machine or the foundation? 🤔
High-tech sensors and spare parts dominate the conversation. But a significant proportion of unplanned mechanical failures are symptoms of foundation failure, not the machine itself.
Decades of service take a toll that even a well-run maintenance programme can miss:
⚙️ Sub-base contamination: Oil and process chemicals degrading your concrete integrity over time.
⚙️ Dynamic load fatigue: Micro-fractures causing that gradual, hard-to-diagnose alignment drift.
⚙️ Bond failure: Loss of effective bearing area between the baseplate and the foundation.
If you are replacing expensive pumps or motors but bolting them back onto a compromised base, you are not fixing the problem. You are resetting the clock on the next failure.
Alphatec helps operators escape the repair-fail-repeat cycle through Foundation Rehabilitation. Break the cycle. 🛑

Headline: The $130/bbl Reliability Trap 🛢️⚠️
The IEA’s April 2026 report just dropped: https://www.iea.org/reports/oil-market-report-april-2026 and it’s a wake-up call. For the first time since 2020, we are seeing a contraction in global oil demand—driven by the massive supply shock of the Iran war.
While the headlines focus on geopolitical tension and soaring prices, plant operators are facing a much more localised threat: The Reliability Gap.
The Problem: As supply plummets and prices skyrocket, refineries and petrochemical plants are being forced into "irregular cycling." Your heavy rotating machinery—compressors, turbines, and pumps—wasn't designed for constant starts, stops, and throughput cuts. This instability creates:
* Extreme vibration spikes.
* Critical misalignment.
* Accelerated foundation fatigue.
The "Shadow Story": In a $130/bbl environment, the cost of unplanned downtime isn't just an inconvenience—it’s a financial catastrophe. A failing concrete foundation or a shrinking cementitious grout is a "silent killer" that will cripple your assets exactly when you need them most.
The Solution: Resilience starts at the base. Precision mounting with high-performance epoxy grouts (like Alphatec AT800/AT808) provides the vibration damping and alignment stability required to survive volatile operations.
The Bottom Line: You can’t control the Strait of Hormuz. You can control the integrity of your machinery foundations. Don’t let a macro crisis turn into a micro mechanical failure.

🌏 Island generators do not fail quietly.
In the Pacific, diesel generators are not backup power. They are the power. For hospitals, water treatment facilities, and communications infrastructure across Guam, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and dozens of smaller island nations, a failed generator foundation is a public health and safety issue.
While the repair is a challenge, another is finding a specialist willing to mobilise to a location most contractors have never heard of.
Alphatec has done exactly that. A recent case study covers anchor bolt replacement and realignment on a diesel engine at a remote Pacific Island power plant, coordinating specialist materials and logistics from the ground up.
If you manage critical power infrastructure in the Pacific Islands region, we should speak. ⚙

Structural Technologies puts it plainly: anchor bolt maintenance is almost always an afterthought, addressed only after a failure has already occurred.
For rotating and reciprocating equipment, that failure means lost stability, rising vibration, and accelerated wear on bearings and seals.
Chemical anchoring changes the equation. Higher pull-out strength than mechanical alternatives, no torque loss under dynamic loading, and new anchor locations established without reconstructing the entire foundation block.

The repair quote arrived before anyone looked at the foundation.
This is how repeat failures happen. Work gets scoped, priced, and approved based on what is visible. The foundation goes unchecked. Six months later, the same equipment is down again.
Alphatec Engineering provides foundation inspection, evaluation, and diagnosis for critical rotating and reciprocating equipment. We identify what has failed, why it has failed, and what a repair actually needs to address before any work begins.⚙️
