🌿♻️ Building a More Circular Tourism Sector in Albania! 🇦🇱

How can tourism grow while protecting the environment and local communities?

The Erasmus+ project Circular Tourism Albania supports tourism VET institutions and SMEs in adopting sustainable practices through three key areas:

🥕 Farm to Fork: Connecting local producers with tourism businesses.
💧 Resource Efficiency: Improving water and energy management.
♻️ Waste Reduction: Promoting recycling, composting, and zero-waste solutions.

By strengthening cooperation between education and industry, the project helps build a greener, more resource-efficient, and resilient tourism sector in Albania.

🌐 Bridging the digital divide for adult migrants!

The digitalisation of public administration has transformed how citizens access essential services and exercise their rights. Yet for people with a migrant background, navigating e-government can be challenging, particularly when online services are not designed with inclusivity or multilingualism in mind.

eMATES is an Erasmus+ project working to bridge this digital divide by combining language training with digital literacy. The project supports adults with migrant backgrounds in developing the confidence and skills they need to navigate online public services and participate more fully in society.

eMATES also equips language teachers with practical tools to support not only language learning, but also digital autonomy. 💻 🎓

At DomSpain, we believe that digital inclusion is about more than knowing how to use a tool. It is about having the skills and confidence to access essential services, participate in community life, and make the most of the opportunities available.

🌱🌊 Assessing Green Skills for a Greener Blue Economy!

How can we make sustainability a stronger part of vocational education and training?

Blue Economy Labs is developing a Green Skills Assessment to help VET providers understand teachers’ and staff’s knowledge, skills, and ability to apply sustainable practices in the blue economy.

🔎 By assessing sustainability knowledge, climate change awareness, and practical green skills, the tool will help identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities to improve training.

🎓 Because building a greener future starts with equipping educators and learners with the skills needed to protect our oceans and shape tomorrow’s sustainable blue jobs!

A greener ocean for a greener future.

Over the past two weeks, we have welcomed a group of VET students from Portugal to Espai Boule as part of an Erasmus+ mobility hosted by DomSpain

During their stay in Reus, the students took part in a practical training programme focused on web development, working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Laravel.

They also developed their own personal web portfolios and had the opportunity to discover Reus and visit local companies such as Amersam, gaining first-hand insight into how organisations and professionals work in our region.

These Erasmus+ VET mobilities are a great way to learn new skills, gain international experience, discover a new country and connect with different professional environments.

CoopSkills brings together municipalities, chambers of commerce, businesses, and training centres to create “Learning Companies” that promote inclusive learning, strengthen digital skills, and support personal and professional growth.

As Europe moves towards a greener and more digital economy, the project seeks to empowers individuals to grow, adapt, and find new opportunities in a more sustainable and digitally driven economy.

By connecting learning with real workplace needs, CoopSkills helps individuals reskill, stay adaptable, and build pathways towards more sustainable and inclusive employment. 🌱💡

The stunning Albanian landscapes and sceneries and the affordable prices attract more and more travelers every year. However, this can present several challenges for the tourism sector, especially regarding sustainability.

Albania Circular tourism, an Erasmus+ project that focuses on building capacities within Albania’s tourism sector, aims to drive a transition toward a more resource-efficient and environmentally friendly tourism industry. With a strong emphasis on education-business collaboration, international exchange, and vocational training, the initiative enhances the capacity of tourism professionals to implement sustainability-driven solutions.

By aligning with EU and Western Balkans Green Agenda priorities, CIRCULAR TOURISM ensures Albania is well-positioned to manage its increasing tourism demand while maintaining ecological and economic resilience. This initiative is a crucial step toward sustainable tourism development, fostering long-term industry growth and improving Albania’s attractiveness as a destination.

Together, these efforts support the transition towards a more resource-efficient, environmentally friendly, and resilient tourism industry in Albania. 🌍

🌊 Building skills for a sustainable blue future!

Blue Economy Labs supports sustainability, innovation, and development across maritime sectors, from fisheries and tourism to conservation. Bringing together organisations from Colombia, Chile, Germany, and Spain, the project strengthens cooperation between vocational education and training institutions, training centres, schools, and industry.

The project equips the next generation of ocean professionals with the knowledge and skills needed for sustainable fishing, coastal management, and other Blue Jobs, while promoting gender equality and the responsible use of marine resources.

By fostering cooperation between Europe and Latin America, Blue Economy Labs contributes to a more sustainable and inclusive Blue Economy and helps prepare learners for the green and blue jobs of tomorrow.💙💚
