**WHO SAID YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO TURN SIDEWAYS TO HIT A FOREHAND?** 🎾
We often teach players to turn sideways as if it were the only correct way to hit.
But in padel, **not every ball requires the same positioning**. 🧠
You need to adapt depending on the incoming ball:
👉 Is it close?
👉 Is it far away?
👉 Is it behind you?
In many of these situations, **hitting with your weight supported on one leg can be the best option**.
Why? Because it allows you to adapt to the ball and find solutions without forcing unnecessary positions.
🎯 **More control.**
💪 **More power.**
🚀 **More options.**
Technique shouldn’t limit your possibilities. It should give you more tools to solve different situations.
**It’s not about hitting every ball the same way. It’s about choosing the best solution for each ball.**

🎾 Do your opponents pass you too easily when you'’e at the net?
Sometimes the problem isn'’ your volley. It'’ how you'’e covering the available space. 🧠
Being at the net isn'’ just about standing in the right area. You need to understand where to position yourself, which spaces to close and what shot options you'’e leaving your opponent.
📍 Your positioning influences your opponent'’ decisions.
When you close the spaces correctly, you reduce their angles, limit their options and increase your chances of controlling the point. 💪
It'’ not about running more. It'’ about better positioning and anticipation.
🎯 Winning the net is important. Knowing how to protect it is just as important.
👇 Do you often get passed even when you’re at the net? Let me know in the comments!

Si sos entrenador o querés empezar a dar clases, te invito a seguir formándote y a revisar cómo trabajás en pista.

HOW TO LEARN TO TURN IN THE CORNER WITHOUT OVERTHINKING
Defending the corner can often be difficult because we don’t understand which way we need to turn. We overthink it, hesitate, and end up turning one way and then the other.
But there is a very simple and natural way to learn the movement without giving too many instructions.
Position the player close to the net and throw a ball past them, as I show in the video. As soon as the ball goes past, their body will automatically turn to follow it.
They don’t need to think about which foot to move or which way to turn: **the movement happens naturally**.
Then we take that same feeling to the back of the court and apply it when defending the corner.
Very often, the best explanation isn’t to talk more, but to create a situation in which the body naturally finds the solution.
👉 Try it and let me know if this exercise helps you understand the turn more clearly.

Aprender. Compartir. Escuchar. Confiar. Y volver a empezar. Siempre. 💪
⸻
To teach, you first have to keep learning.
I strongly believe in continuous development. In never settling for what you already know, in listening, sharing, challenging ideas and constantly looking for ways to improve.
But I’ve also learned something equally important: no one builds something great alone.
Having a technical team you can trust — people you can talk padel with, question decisions, exchange different points of view and grow alongside — makes a huge difference. 🤝🎾
And being able to do that in an environment like the Rafa Nadal Academy, surrounded by professionals and a culture built around learning and continuous improvement, is a privilege.
Because growing as a coach also means never stopping being a student. 🧠📚
Learn. Share. Listen. Trust. And start again. Always. 💪

//
🎾 **Confidence is also trained during the match.**
The problem isn’t making one mistake. The problem starts when **one mistake becomes two, three, four…** and we begin to lose confidence.
After an error, instead of getting stuck on what just happened, ask yourself:
👉 **What can I learn from this point so I don’t repeat it on the next one?**
Maybe it was a bad decision, trying to accelerate too much, choosing the wrong moment, or simply a poor ex*****on.
The goal is for the mistake to **end there**.
❌ Error → frustration → rushing → another error → loss of confidence.
✅ Error → information → adjustment → next point.
Don’t try to play a perfect match.
Try to make sure **every mistake teaches you something and doesn’t carry over into the next point.** 🧠💪🏼🎾
👉 ¿Cuántas realmente terminan generando ventaja o punto?
//
🎾 Does finishing the point mean hitting harder?
Many amateur players see a short lob and immediately think: smash 💥
But finishing the point doesn’t mean crushing the ball.
It means ending the point effectively ✅
It could be with a bandeja, a vibora, a shot to the feet, into open space, or a smash.
The key is recognizing the comfortable ball and making the right decision 🧠
And if you want to improve your finishing, you first need to measure it 📊
👉 How many clear opportunities do you get?
👉 What decision do you make?
👉 How many actually create an advantage or win the point?
It’s not enough to feel that your finishing is poor.
First understand what you’re doing. Then you can improve it. 🎯
