There are approximately 9,000 buses operating in London every day.

I needed to find just thirty of them.

The problem was that nobody could tell me exactly where they were.

This was one of the most unusual assignments I've ever undertaken.

The objective was simple enough: photograph a tourism campaign promoting the beautiful Mediterranean town of Almuñécar.

The reality was somewhat more complicated.

I arrived in London two days early, studied the routes, investigated bus depots, mapped overlapping routes and developed a contingency plan.

Fortunately, everything worked perfectly, and we managed to photograph the clients standing beside their advertisements throughout central London.

The icing on the cake came later when people from the region spotted the buses and shared them on social media.

Those moments of genuine engagement are incredibly valuable.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be working on a three-day multi-format content project in Guadix — producing photography, video, and 360° virtual tour content to support a new tourism platform.

Projects like this go far beyond traditional photography.

Working solo across multiple formats means balancing:

• Heritage site restrictions

• Complex lighting conditions

• Tight production timelines

• Consistency across stills, motion, and immersive media

Capturing historic environments while preparing assets for modern digital platforms is always a challenge — but also where the most rewarding work happens.

I’ve shared a behind-the-scenes look at how I approach projects like this, including workflow, challenges, and planning strategies.
