Work Package:
the lowest level of WBS
it takes typically duration from 8-88 work hours
its duration should not exceed the time between status report
the progress should be easy to track
work package are further broken down during the activity definition preocess

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS):
is a hierarchy division of the work scope elements of a project to be performed.
The main function of WBS is :
to divide the scope of work into manageable parts that correspond to key deliverable, phases or milestones.

The Major Types of constraints are:
- Finish On
- Finish On Or after
- Finish On Or before
- Start On
- Start On Or After
- Start On Or before
- As Late as possible
- Mandatory Finish
- Mandatory Start

Near Critical Path:
Is the nearest path to the critical path in floats and sometimes it becomes critical path
the near critical and critical paths are the most risk the project has

Negative Float:
this happens when the contractual project completion date is earlier than the calculated project completion date in the forward calculations.
In this case you should compress the schedule to match the contractual finish date.

Constraints:
- use constraints when activities must start or finish on a specific date. network logic alone cannot reflect all project situations.
- sometimes activity must be accomplished according to specific dates rather than on dates determined by other activities in the project.
القيود :
يجب أن نستخدم القيود في حالة وجوب بدء او انتهاء النشاط في تاريخ معين
حيث أن ال network diagram لن تقوم بهذا العمل

Float Or Slack Calculations In CPM method:
Total Float (TF):
the total float TF of an activity is the maximum time that activity can be delayed without causing delay in the final project completion.
Total Float (TF) = Late Finish (LF) - Early Start (ES) - Duration (D)

Free Float (FF):
FF is the maximum time activity may be delayed without affecting the start of the successor activities.
Free Float (FF)= Early Finish (EF)-Early Start (ES)- Duration (D)

Critical Path:
the critical path is the longest duration path through a network diagram and determines the shortest time to complete the project.
