Hello, language lovers! 🌍 As Valentine's Day just arrived, I thought it would be fun to explore how love is expressed in the heart of Egypt.

Egyptians are known for their warm hospitality and deep affection for their loved ones. From family gatherings to romantic strolls along the Nile, expressions of love are woven into the fabric of everyday life. And what better way to express love than through the rich and expressive Egyptian Arabic dialect!

So here are some unique words of affection that you can sprinkle into your conversations:

💕Habibi/Habibti: This translates to 'my love' or 'my dear'. Use Habibi when addressing a man and Habibti for a woman.

💕Albi: This sweet term means 'my heart', a wonderful way to show someone they hold a special place in your life.

💕Rouhi: Directly translated, this means 'my soul'. It's a deeply affectionate term used for those closest to you.

💕Hayati: This term means 'my life', showing the person is an essential part of your existence.

💕Omri: Translated as 'my life' too, but with a more poetic sense, like saying 'you are my world'.

Remember, these expressions are not just for romantic relationships, but can also be used towards friends and family members. So why not try using these terms this Valentine's Day and add a little Egyptian flavor to your expressions of love. 💕

From all of us at 'Arabic With Rasha', we wish you a Happy Valentine's Day filled with love and warmth. And remember, language is the closest thing we have to magic, so keep exploring and keep expressing!

Immerse yourself in the rich aroma of Egyptian tea, a symbol of hospitality and friendship that permeates every corner of our vibrant culture. ☕🇪🇬 From the bustling streets of Cairo to the historic regions of Upper Egypt, a cup of tea is more than a beverage - it's a tradition passed down through generations.

Meet Koshary and Saiidi, the two main stars of Egyptian tea culture. Koshary, a light black tea sweetened with cane sugar, is a popular choice in Northern Egypt. Meanwhile, Saiidi, a robust black tea served with generous amounts of sugar, is a favorite in Upper Egypt.

The ritual behind tea preparation in Egypt is an art form in itself. The rhythmic sound of the teaspoon stirring sugar into the glass, the rising steam from the boiling water, and the rich aroma of the brew, even the addition of mint leaves proves refreshingly mystical - every step is steeped in tradition and significance.

Curious to learn more about Egypt's unique cultural nuances? Join us at 'Arabic With Rasha' and explore the beauty of the Arabic language, one cup of tea at a time.

Share your favorite tea memory or tell us how you like your tea in the comments below! Let's celebrate the warmth of Egyptian hospitality together. ☕️🌍

"Estaba nervioso por aprender un nuevo idioma, especialmente uno tan antiguo y complejo como el árabe. Pero los métodos de enseñanza de Rasha lo hicieron fácil y agradable. Adaptó las lecciones a mis necesidades, centrándose en el vocabulario de negocios y las frases comunes utilizadas en el entorno laboral. Ahora puedo manejar con confianza reuniones casuales en árabe e incluso tener pequeñas conversaciones con mis colegas en El Cairo. Hello, wonderful language learners! It's Rasha here, with a quick glimpse into one of our grammar lessons. Today, let's explore the fascinating world of Arabic verbs!

In Egyptian Arabic, we have past, present and future tenses but each of the tenses is conjugated according to the person and its gender.

For example, the verb “to eat” (Yakul) is conjugated as shown in the image above. You can see the pattern that certain verbs follow in their conjugation as soon as you compare several of them side to side. It’s a fun game once you see it!

In our lessons, we dive deeper into these grammatical nuances, breaking them down into digestible chunks.

Stay tuned for more grammar insights and don't forget to practice! Remember, language learning is a journey, not a destination.

¡Hola, amigos!
