We are happy to share that A Young Man In Trouble has been selected for AFLAMUNA Connection 2026.

Written and directed by Ahmed Sobhy marking his debut feature. His short films previously screened internationally at festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, El Gouna, and Winterthur.

Developed following the Sawiris Cultural Award for Best Screenplay, the feature is co-written and produced by Perihan Mousa.

We’re grateful to reach this new step in the film’s journey, and honored to be part of AFLAMUNA , a meaningful and encouraging space for the project moving forward.

الفيلم من كتابة وإخراج أحمد صبحي، ويُعد أول أفلامه الروائية الطويلة. وقد عُرضت أفلامه القصيرة في مهرجانات دولية، من بينها مهرجان كليرمون-فيران، ومهرجان الجونة، وWinterthur.

تطوّر المشروع بعد حصوله على جائزة ساويرس الثقافية لأفضل سيناريو، وهو من تأليف مشترك وإنتاج بريهان موسى.

سعداء بوصول الفيلم إلى هذه المرحلة الجديدة من رحلته، وفخورون بكوننا جزءًا من AFLAMUNA، لما تمثّله من مساحة داعمة ومهمة لمسار المشروع في المرحلة المقبلة.

We’re incredibly happy to share that our feature film project “A Young Man in Trouble”, to be directed by Ahmed Sobhy and produced by Perihan Mousa, has been officially selected for the 7th edition of Dot.on.the.Map – Meeting Point co-production forum.
The project was also recently honored with the Sawiris Cultural Award for Best Script (2026).

شركة هاند برينت للأفلام بتجهز لمسلسل تسجيلي جديد للإنترنت بعنوان "على حواف المدينة"، بيحكي عن المواهب الفنية الموجودة في محافظات مصر (بعيدًا عن القاهرة)، مثل:
- رسم
- غُنا
- الحرف التقليدية واليدوية
- صناعة الآلات الموسيقية
- النحت علي الخشب
- فنون السيرك
- رقص
أو أي شكل من أشكال التعبير الفني

هدف المسلسل هو تسليط الضوء على الناس اللي عندهم مهن فنية، لكن مش عايشين في أماكن فيها فرص، تعليم، أو مجتمعات فنية بتسهل التطور.
عايزين نسمع قصتكم، ونشوف إزاي أنتم بتخلقوا فنونكم.

Check the latest article on our film with Cooke Optics with our director of photography Mostafa Sheshtawy where he shared insight on the pre-production with the director Ahmed Sobhy.

�“The project is taking place in real time, in middle class Cairo, where it’s very gritty and there will be a lot of movement. It’s a handheld project, so 25mm showed the movement a bit too much and close up shots weren’t my favorite. We decided on the 32mm and we only had that on set.�It was handheld, I operated it, and I had iris remote controller on my right handle for quick iris pulls, cause we went outside the balcony, I had to pull – in some takes- from T.2 all way to T.11 , the beautiful quality of glass really helped hide that big pull.
We did 6 complete takes, and around 25 incomplete ones.”

The film’s international premiere was in the 45th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
