The Autonomous Driving Lab participated in sTARTUp Day and showcased some of our latest developments in autonomous driving!

We demonstrated real-time obstacle detection, allowing visitors to see objects being detected live on screen. Our traffic light recognition system was tested with a real traffic light, making the experience more tangible. We also presented autonomous navigation in a digital twin of Tartu, giving a glimpse into how self-driving technology interacts with virtual city environments.

Great to see so many people interested in the future of mobility. Looking forward to the next events 🚀

Our Jackal robot completed a Seiklushunt orienteering track for the first time! Nice way to end the season!

We had 87 disengagements during 900m track, which makes it ~10m per disengagement. Still 94% of the time it was driving autonomously, so the corrections were rather brief. Main issue was that Jackal cannot handle the curbs, we had to help it. Looking forward to the next season!
