Geography
The Province of Azuay limited to the north by the province of Cañar, on the south by the province of Loja, on the east by the provinces of Morona Santiago and Zamora, and west Guayas and El Oro is twelfth in land area, with 8639 km ².

Cuenca, which is a very beautiful city with many churches, charming museums, monasteries, plazas, colonial buildings and colorful markets. Basin is home to the world famous Panama hats that were donated by Ecuador in the respect and gratitude of the Panama Canal.
While on a trip to Cuenca, tourists can wander freely through the streets of Cuenca which are cobblestone. The buildings have a colonial look with colorful balconies and charming squares and markets are very well preserved and maintained.
