🦾 Spinal screw placement can be unforgiving. Error margins are small. Expectations are high—which is why combining the right workflow with the right robotic support is critical.

For Taofiq Desmond Sanusi MSc MRCS FRCS(SN) FEBNS PhD, Neurosurgeon at Queen's Hospital Romford UK, success in spinal instrumentation starts with a structured approach. In thoracic and lumbar cases, he consistently uses an all guide-wire-first workflow with Cirq® Robotics, enabling high accuracy while maintaining efficiency and control.
After evaluating all major systems, he selected Cirq® from Brainlab for its ability to seamlessly support this approach in real clinical scenarios.

Here, he explains how Cirq® supports him in overcoming key challenges in spinal instrumentation, enhancing precision while keeping his workflow efficient and intuitive.*

At the biennial meeting of the American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (ASSFN), we were reminded yet again of just how powerful this community is. 🙌

We spent four inspiring days in Cleveland at the intersection of innovation and clinical practice. At booths #100 & #102, alongside our partners at Boston Scientific Deep Brain Stimulation, we had the privilege of showcasing how we are transforming and optimizing clinical workflows in functional neurosurgery—from initial planning to intraoperative ex*****on.

Some of the most exciting conversations centered around:
🌟 Loop-X® Mobile Imaging Robot, including the new Stereo Verify* feature
🌟 Cirq® Robotics for SEEG and LITT**
🌟 Brainlab Functional Neurosurgery planning solutions, including Elements Fibertracking, Elements Trajectory planning Cranial and Elements Stereotaxy

Thank you to every clinician and partner who stopped by to ask questions, challenge ideas and share insights. That collaborative exchange is exactly what drives real progress!

We look forward to keeping the momentum going at WSSFN 2026 in Marseille, September 29 – October 3! 🇫🇷

Global Spine Congress 2026 is a wrap.
And one idea ran through every conversation this week: patient outcomes belong at the center of spine care. For Brainlab that is not a conference theme. It is a conviction. And we take it personally. 🦾

"We take it personally: spine care where every step matters," our theater session, showcased our comprehensive spine portfolio.
Thank you to our speakers, Professor Markus Loibl, MD, and Professor Gianluca Vadalà, MD, for sharing their clinical expertise and insights on Elements Spine Planning* and our Robotic Suite: Loop-X®, Cirq® and Curve® Navigation**, and thank you to Brainlab moderator Jana Guggenberger.

Spine care is never one size fits all. Every patient deserves an approach built around their individual needs. Our open platform is designed to give surgeons the freedom to make decisions based on clinical necessity.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Istanbul and to AO Spine for bringing the spine care community together. The discussions this week were a reminder of why this work matters.

Congratulations are in order for Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Alabama! 🎉

Father and sons orthopedic surgeons Mark Prevost Senior, MD, Mark A. Prevost II, MD, and Matthew Prevost, MD, and their highly-dedicated team just completed their 500th case using Loop-X® Mobile Imaging Robot. 👏

This milestone is proof that innovative medical technology can play a crucial role even in small community hospitals.

“We have always focused on providing the highest quality of care to our patients and are proud to have treated over 500 spine patients with state-of-the-art Brainlab technology," stated Dr. Mark Prevost II.
"It has been impressive to see how Loop-X® has continued to evolve since we first started to use the system. We recently started using a new Loop-X® feature that allows us to image the entire spine at once, and it has been a real advantage for our longer construct verification scans."

Close to 30 team members joined in the 500th case celebration. The sense of pride in what they've accomplished together and the patients' lives that have been changed through these procedures was overwhelming.

A big congrats to everyone involved! 👏

Last week, Brainlab and Medtronic Cardiac and Vascular Group welcomed 22 leading vascular surgeons from across Europe, together with industry colleagues, to our Munich headquarters for two days of hands-on workshops and clinical exchange: Aortic Spotlight 2.0.

Participants trained on both companies’ Endovascular Vision and Pipeline programs, with a particular focus on complex AAA treatment directly with Prof. Michele Piazza, M.D., University of Padova, while also getting hands-on exposure to next-generation techniques and emerging concepts designed to close the intraoperative situational awareness gap in complex aortic cases, through constant interactions. The goal was to interactively question the status-quo and shape the future of endovascular surgery together with the clinicians who perform these complex procedures every day.

At Brainlab, we build on decades of surgical visualization, navigation, and imaging expertise. Medtronic builds on a leading aortic portfolio and deep clinical experience. The next generation of complex AAA treatment workflows is still taking shape, and collaborative events like this are exactly how we shape it.

Aortic Spotlight 2.0 was just the starting point. There is more to come.
