The oceans cover three quarters of the planet's surface. 🌊

The ocean drives our global systems that make the Earth habitable for humankind. Our rainwater, drinking water, weather, climate, coastlines, a lot of our food, and even the oxygen in the air we breathe, are all ultimately provided and regulated by the seas and oceans.

Careful management of this essential global resource is a key feature of a sustainable future. Currently, however, coastal waters are becoming increasingly polluted, and ocean acidification is having a negative impact on ecosystem functioning and biodiversity. This also has a negative impact on artisanal fisheries.

SDG number 14 puts priority the oceans - only use the ocean, seas, and marine resources in a sustainable way and thereby preserve, conserve, and save this powerful resource! 🌅
