Thank you all so much for coming out to the first edition of Sounds of the Void!

As you might know, SotV started as a collaboration between Hemelbestormer and us, so we’re absolutely grateful to see such a packed venue on our home turf, with an energy you could almost touch throughout the whole evening.

Bad News, everybody. Benedikt has tendonitis and will not be able to perform at the Sounds of the Void this weekend.

Good news, though: Bandfounder Dominic (currently on leave) will step in!

But: As preparation time was extremly short, we will not play any new material of the new record. We are sorry for this! On the other hand, this might be the last show with a "A Grey Chill and A Whisper" heavy set. And with the principal songwriter of that record on stage. Blessing in disguise?

The concept of our festival is to explore dark and atmospheric music beyond genre boundaries, and we’re still excited about having put together such a powerful lineup. Which band are you most excited to see?

Sounds of the Void ist eine neu stattfindende Konzertreihe, die den Sound, die Atmosphäre und die rohe Energie des musikalischen Undergrounds für alle open-minded Fans von dunkler Musik verkörpert. Der Ein-Tages-Event im etablierten Kölner Club Volta dient als Treffpunkt für alle diejenigen, die sich von den dunkleren Hymnen in weitem Kosmos der Musik angezogen fühlen. Die ausgewählten Künstler bilden ein breites Spektrum dunkler Musik ab; von Black und Doom Metal über Post-Punk oder Post-Rock bis Ambient ist alles möglich. Jeder Künstler, der zum Sounds of the Void eingeladen wird, verkörpert diesen speziellen Geist des obskuren Undergrounds. Entscheidend ist hierbei die Atmosphäre und weniger die Mittel, mit welchen diese erzeugt wird. Es ist nicht wichtig, ob diese Mittel verzerrte Gitarren, Growls, klassische Instrumente oder Elektronik sind.

Die erste Runde des Sounds of the Void wird am 07.03.2026 abgehalten. An diesem Abend werden fünf hervorragende Vertreter von zeitgemäßer, dunkler Musik auftreten, die das Publikum auf eine spannende Reise in das namensgebende Nichts und wieder zurück mitnehmen werden:

Rană: Die Band aus Braunschweig hat sich mit ihrer sehr speziellen und intensiven Mischung aus Crust Punkt und Black Metal in sehr kurzer Zeit einen Namen in der Szene gemacht.

Rope Sect: Nach langer Zeit kehren diese Ausnahmekünstler zurück in die Domstadt, um ihre ungewöhnliche Version des Post-Punk-Sounds, den man eigentlich Raw Wave nennen müsste, zu performen.

Beltez: Die Kölner Black-Metal-Institution ist aktuell damit beschäftigt ein neues Album vorzubereiten, welches ihren atmosphärischen Black Metal noch weiter vorantreiben wird. Erscheinen wird es im Herbst 2026. Die Setlist wird daher bekannte sowie brandneue Songs beinhalten.

Hemelbestormer: Die belgischen Post-Metal-Schwergewichter haben letztens erst ihr neues Album „The Radiant Veil“ veröffentlicht und bringen ihre eigene musikalische Vision des großen Abgrunds ins Nichts nach Köln.

Wolvennest: Ebenfalls aus Belgien abstammend, werden sie den Abend als perfekter Headliner für diese erste Feier von Dunkelheit und Licht in Würde beschließen.

Throwback to last week, when we played two fantastic shows in Trier villaWuller and Munich Backstage München. Huge thanks to the amazing bands we shared the stage with, and special shoutout to Aaron from Phosphorus (Trier) and Max from Fagus for organizing the events!

We unfortunately had to perform without our singer Marc - but he‘s doing better now. Huge thanks again to Christoph for stepping in last minute!

To reminisce in the memory, we also filmed our show in Munich - here are a few impressions of the show and the mini-tour itself. Now we’re only a few days away from entering the studio, so there will finally be news about new music soon!

This weekend we’re taking a short break from studio preparations to play two shows:

- Trier: w/ .phosphorus,
- Munich: w/ , .official,

What started as an extremely cursed week - Marc had to cancel the shows due to health reasons, Marleen from .band stepped in and then also had to drop out last minute due to sickness - ended with an incredible rehearsal yesterday. Christoph (live guitarist of .band) absolutely blew us away with his vocal performance. Thank you so much for saving our asses!

Expect a very unique and intense setlist featuring new, unreleased, and old songs. Who’s coming?!
