📜 When news was not only digital.

Before sustainability became a buzzword.
Before climate decks, impact metrics, and AI generated vision statements.
Before everything lived in the cloud.

This is a printed newspaper from France, 2010.

At the time, the project was described as “un projet unique en France”:
an ecological domain bringing together land stewardship, renewable energy, food production, and local economic activity.

On nearly 30 hectares, the vision combined:
• Organic farming and eco-tourism
• Renewable energy through methanisation
• Spirulina production as both food and innovation
• A model designed to create jobs, restore buildings, and serve as a reference for other regions

It was not theoretical.
It was infrastructure-heavy, long-term, and rooted in territory.

No social media strategy.
No pitch deck aesthetics.
Just land, people, systems and belief.

Many people contributed to that early phase and shaped the thinking behind it, including Le Sèvre, Geondron, , and -François Langlet.
Not everyone appears in this photo, but the work was always collective.

Looking back, what strikes me most is the pace and seriousness:
Projects were expected to mature.
Ideas were validated through real operations.
Credibility came from ex*****on, not visibility.

Today, as I reactivate and expand Ecovillage Lebanon, I carry that same mindset forward combining physical infrastructure (water, land, energy, food) with modern digital tools, not the other way around.

Some things move fast.
Others need roots.

And the projects that last usually have both.
