No new video today, instead a few thoughts on AI that I've been trying to process and structure over the last few days. This is less about AI as a creative tool, but rather about the last thing capitalism hadn't fully captured yet, our ability to be in awe and to be enchanted.
Catching Up With .habiba, the Turkish-born, Berlin-based producer whose journey from classical piano conservatory to techno's uncompromising frontlines mirrors a complete reinvention of identity through sound.
Born Beste Aydin, their work spans fearsome full-throttle DJ sets, experimental modular explorations, and collaborations with Georgian choirs, all while running the label championing underrepresented artists.
We explore the unexpected inspirations that shaped her path, discuss her deep connection to Turkish folk music, debate which sounds in electronic music she'd permanently banish if given the chance, and get her essential picks for the exciting talent demanding attention right now, , and .
I'm back catching up with my favorite artists and we kick off this season with , the Swiss-Algerian producer whose grubby, psychedelic and anti-authoritarian electronics have made her essential listening across Europe's underground.
Born in Lausanne and forged in the forest rave and squat party scenes before relocating to Brussels, she's built a practice that spans beatdown techno, acidic industrial, and knotty breaks, all while co-running the Big Science label with and holding residencies on .radio and Rinse FM. With countless releases amongst others on 's or .records, her catalog refuses easy categorization.
We explore the art of storytelling in her productions, uncover why she's a secret horse girl, discuss how Djrum's meticulous approach continues to push her studio work to new heights, and get her essential picks for the exciting young talent demanding attention right now, , & .
Required viewing for those who understand that the best club music carries the moss and mud of the forest floor!

You know it's serious when I pull out the application photo!
Besides the work you know me for as a curator and organizer (and content creator), I've got plenty of experience working with brands, agencies, consulting firms, startups, and individuals on creative and cultural strategy - and in a past life, I even led an engineering company.
Don't hesitate to get in touch. Let's make amazing things happen together!

Playing tomorrow b2b with Nala Brown at Open Ground in Wuppertal. Immensely excited, she's a DJ I've been following religiously ever since I heard this mix of hers. One of the best DJs in Europe, imho! Come check us out :)
Galactic Funk Podcast 071 - Nala Brown We're delighted to welcome Nala Brown to the GF series this week. The Rotterdam-based Dutch selector is part of the Ampfeminine crew, a collective of female DJs who have diversity as a core part of th

Just found on my hard drive a mix I recorded for Betlehem's Radio AlHara, which has not been archive before. Especially interesting for ≠ (not equal) era O***m Hum fans!
It was made four months into the pandemic, and my notes say: "A mix summarizing the very upheaving last 16 weeks - the uncanniness of it, the confusion, the uncertainty, the hope for relief and the repeating cycles of that procession.
Music by Ngahiwi Apanui, S.U.V, Sarah Devachi, Emra Grid, Molero, Nihiloxica, Tidiane Thiam, Matriarchy Roots, The Soft Pink Truth, Golden Retriever, Katie Gateley, Rebecca Foon & more."
Enjoy!!

Incredibly excited that not only will I be playing at Outlook Festival this year - there will also be a massive HYPER REAL stage with an incredible line-up, details to be announced soon.
Can't wait to see you all in the Croatian sun!
Let's talk about the best sounding club on the planet!
Carved into a WWII bunker in Wuppertal, Opengl Ground was co-founded by Hard Wax founder and dub techno pioneer Mark Ernestus. Funktion-One F132 subs taking frequencies down to 24Hz and a wall-to-wall acoustic treatment. Floating Points called it "probably the greatest-sounding club in the EU" while others said it can bring you to tears.
On February 7th my party series Hyper Real lands with Ben Sleia's fearless cross-genre mastery, Slikback's relentless industrial bass at 160+ BPM, and a special b2b between myself and Nala Brown closing it all out. Additionally techno titans DJ Nobu & DJ Pete on main room duties.
A night for the bass addicts, crate diggers, and genre agnostics, February 7th at Open Ground - don't miss this!

This is my 15th as one of the curators. The first weekend was everything - from sustained tones to deconstructed singeli and from black metal choirs to warehouse rave magic.
Seven more days to go, please buy some tickets and join us!
All photos and videos my own.
It's that time of the year - ten days of are upon us! The program is as vast as it's exciting, so let's look at some of my personal highlights from the stacked opening weekend!
Earth performing Hex in full, Ellen Arkbro coaxing medieval crumhorns into intonation bliss, Blawan unleashing SickElixier live, and Kavari plunging into spatial chaos on a one-of-a-kind 36.6 channel sound system, it's the kind of weekend where pipe organs and rave sirens occupy the same sonic continuum of resonance and dissonance.
