Route, Sequence And Control All Of Your Music Production Gear With Reliq

05/08/2026

Turns out one little pattern was hiding a whole stack of melodies. 🎹

MonoMaker lets you pick which note in a polyphonic sequence your mono synth actually plays. Switch the priority from the first to the last note and the exact same pattern whips up a completely different groove.

Same notes in, endless grooves out 👌

Before Reliq could unify a studio or a live setup, it first had to unify itself.

We used to think of architecture as an invisible technical choice, and in many ways it is. You do not see it, but you feel it when the screen can show everything that is happening without making the clock nervous, or when the matrix switches without the digital side leaking into the analog path.

Most of all, we felt it when many different musical worlds began behaving as if they belong to the same instrument. But, oh boy, did it take us some time to get there.

Part 2 of our "Why Reliq took 5 years to build" series is out, and it covers Their Majesty the Architecture.

Reliq has always been about giving you precise control over your whole setup. Rlx 1.8.0 leans right into that, from bulk parameter changes to nitty-gritty note edits, clip sequencing, and both automated and manual triggers. The point is, you get to adjust each aspect, whether you're producing in studio or performing live.

Here's what's new:

🔹Select mode: grab groups of steps, tracks, or clips and change them in one move
🔹Clip Sync: each clip changes on the timing you choose
🔹Ratchet and accumulator triggers: choose when each is triggered
🔹MonoMaker: turn a polyphonic output into a single melodic line

Plus a metronome, display enhancements, and a good few smaller things. Have a look at everything in the demo 👉 https://youtu.be/acDFEOmwoLw

You got your Reliq, it's open and plugged in... Now what? 🤔

We've started a new series of tutorial videos where we go from pressing the power button to becoming a power user.

Part 1 takes you through the main pages and and how to build small hybrid patch from start to finish.

5 years of Reliq 💙

Five years since the first screw, or really the first piece of duct tape, went into the very first Reliq prototype. What started as one conversation about timing is now a full instrument sitting at the center of so many setups, and we still can't quite believe how far it's gone.

It's been an insane journey, full of ups, downs, and a lot of deep engineering struggles we never had the time to talk about. So we're finally starting to: we've opened a new blog for the longer, more technical, genuinely exciting (to us) parts of the story. Part 1 is where it all began, the clock.

Read it here: https://reliq-instruments.com/blogs/blog/why-reliq-took-5-years-to-build-part-1-time-keeping-clock?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=organic_social&utm_campaign=reliq_story_pt1&utm_content=anniversary

Thank you for being here from the very first beat 🙏

Calling Reliq a sequencer is like calling a Swiss Army knife a toothpick holder. True, and wildly incomplete.

Yes, it sequences. But in the same box it also patches, routes MIDI, modulates, and keeps the whole setup agreeing on beat one. One instrument doing the job you'd usually split across four 🧰

So once you've got it unboxed and patched in, what do you do? Our new series of video and visual guides is live, beginning with the basics.

Accumulator + MIDI FX can make a 4-step groove feel like it keeps evolving forever.

A few parameter tweaks, and suddenly a simple melody becomes an idea 🧙‍♂️
