Letní škola pro mezinárodní studenty na Université Libre de Bruxelles v Bruselu v červnu 2016. Hlavní řečník: Generál Petr Pavel, předseda vojenského výboru NATO. Když jsme se jako organizátoři této vzdělávací akce obrátili na jeho sekretariát v hlavním sídle NATO s pozváním na vystoupení a debatu se studenty, reakce pana generála na sebe nenechala dlouho čekat — „Pan generál považuje setkání a debaty se studenty za velmi důležitá a přínosná. Proto vaše milé pozvání rád přijímá a již se na něj těší,“ sdělil nám na druhém konci telefonu jeho tajemník.

Nutno dodat, že naši studenti pocházející ze čtyř různých kontinentů neskrývali z vystoupení a velmi otevřené debaty s panem generálem Petrem Pavlem své nadšení. Zejména vyzdvihovali odborné znalostí a praktické zkušenosti pana generála v kombinaci s jeho nehranou skromností a přirozenou laskavostí. Přitom žádná záludná otázka od studentů nezůstala nezodpovězena. Tato velmi pozitivní, přátelská a uvolněná atmosféra jistě vyzařuje i ze závěrečné společné fotografie.

Snad tedy tato slušnost, skromnost, pokora, a také odvaha a odpovědnost, nalezne po téměř nekonečné dvacetileté přestávce opět cestu i zpět na Pražský hrad.
