Aaaannd.. We're done here! For now anyway 🥰

After a few pretty intense weeks, we have managed to clear out the studio, and are moving on to pastures new.

Sad that we won't be able to hang about in our beloved Letna basement all the time - but also very happy that we won't have to hang about in our beloved Letna basement all the time. Weird, innit?

Huge thanks to everyone that was part of this amazing adventure. What we achieved was beyond anything we could have expected, and we're both super proud to have done our thing here over the last few years. It wouldn't have been possible without the amazing people who graced us with their presence, and we are eternally grateful ❤

We are still doing photoshoots! If you need pictures, don't hesitate to get in touch.. but also don't expect them to happen in this space 😅 Word on the street is we might even be doing a few popups once the dust has settled.. But don't hold your breath for this 😋

We figured we might as well go out with a bang! This is something we've been trying to get organised for a while now - and recently were blessed to be awarded a grant via the 'Culture Moves Europe' programme, lead by the Gothe Institut and funded by the European Union.

We are hosting these two incredible artists during the final weeks of the studio's current location so that they can foster their creative endeavours and work towards researching non-hierarchal practices in cross-border collaboration.

Izah Hankammer is a Filipino-German dance performer and choreographer. Thijs Van Scharen is a drummer, curator and musicologist from Belgium. Together they will be working alongside our very own movement master, Peppe D'Andrizza, as well as Allegra and Stevie to create a performance based on their time here, and several films documenting the process.

Sounds cool, right? Well you can come along to check it out! There will be a performance at our final popup on Saturday(24th) and again on Friday(30th) at a separate event(info coming soon 👀)

And because we're now playing the grant game we have to say: This work was produced with the financial assistance of the European Union. Folks, a sad time is upon us. The final popup. I say final, but there's a damn good chance there will be more.. Just not anytime soon, and probably not in the format you are used to.. So if you like what we do then I'd suggest you get this one in the calendar because it's going to be one for the books.

It has been an amazing run and we have to take yet another chance to thank every single person who has passed through the door(even the blaggers). We never planned on being a monthly social spot, and will definitely miss it, but the time has come for us to focus our energies elsewhere.

Gonna miss this so much 🥹

You might have noticed we've been a bit quiet lately.. That is because we've been coming to terms with a pretty sad decision. After more than 3 and a half years, we are closing the studio 😢

We started up right after covid, when our photography business was suffering from a lack of events and film shoots. It was hoped that we'd make a viable business out of this place.. but realistically, as soon as the world started back up again, so did all our other work. It very quickly became almost impossible for us to give this place the time or efforts it deserves. For over three years we worked silly hours, made ourselves ill, took a toll on our social lives and relationships, all to keep this place afloat. We never made any money, infact quite the opposite, and now we need to deal with that before the debts pile up any more.

What we did manage to achieve in this time was total bliss. The studio has been such a source of inspiration and hope for so many people and we are absolutely honoured to have been able to help nurture that. We have done things here that we never dreamed would be possible, and have met some really amazing friends along the way. The memories and connections will last forever.

Sending out a huge thank you to everyone who made this place what it is. Without you, it would have been nothing but a few empty rooms in a basement in Letna.

Good news for fans of our photography - we will still be offering studio shoots and portraiture from our home studio here in Letna 🥳 Same top quality guaranteed!

We will continue in this space for a few months, probably until the end of September. If you have any cool plans that we can help with.. NOW IS THE TIME!
In terms of the concept of ReCompose Studio - It will rise again. We have ideas to do a bunch of popup events in the coming years.. but for now, we need a break.

We are excited to be participating in the amazing "Máme Otevřeno" festival again this year! Last year was such a hoot, and this time we're going to make it one to remember by combining it with one of our world-famous popups! SO HYPED!

We missed out on one last month, so have a ton of excitement in store.. We'll be doing an open-studio during the day, with photoshoots and cyanotypes to play with - as well as our pals at UDesign showing off what they've been upto.

Then as night rolls in, the music will start the drinks will flow and we'll probably have a little dance too.. Standard practice for our once a month social 🙂

Another awesome night with the /Blood, Love and Rhetoric Improv Comedy crew last night as the graduates of the latest round of classes performed their end-of-course show. It was great!
