ARCHIP in Pardubice 🌿

Around 100 ARCHIP students explored the future of the Labe and Chrudimka riverbanks, creating architectural and urban proposals focused on public space, recreation, transport, landscape, and the relationship between the city and water.

The students’ work is now on display in Tyršovy sady in Pardubice as part of a public panel exhibition.

ARCHIP at “City Without Borders” 🌍

In June 2026, ARCHIP student Meltem Gokay and tutor Yvette Vašourková took part in a summer school in Porto, exploring the idea of the “city without borders” and new ways of understanding urban space.

The programme looked at cities as fluid, hybrid, and networked systems, exploring spatial, social, and political realities shaped by globalization, migration, informal urbanization, and technological interconnectedness.

💬 “Collectively, advocate for an open, inclusive, adaptive perspective and above all be attentive to the spatial realities of a globalized world.”

🔎 ARCHIP Summer School 2026: Day 7–10

Students refined their proposals and prepared their final designs. A visit to the glass workshop in Dolany nad Vltavou offered the opportunity to push material boundaries through live experiments with glass and concrete.

The Summer School concluded this Friday with the final exhibition, presenting the 3D-printed samples developed throughout the workshop.

ARCHIP at EDGE Fest 🌍

Last month, ARCHIP took part in the second edition of the EDGE Architecture Festival, where architects, academics, and rising stars in the field came together to discuss the future of architecture and cities.

💬 Our rector Regina Loukotová shared ARCHIP’s perspective on the role of architectural education and how schools can help shape new ideas for the cities of tomorrow. Winy Maas, co-founder of MVRDV and visiting professor at ARCHIP, presented experimental approaches to future urban development, including the SkyCity concept that originated at ARCHIP.

🔎 ARCHIP Summer School 2026: Day 4–6

The past few days were dedicated to developing concepts, testing prototypes, and refining ideas through research and experimentation.

Students also visited Novotný Glass and Lasvit to explore Czech glassmaking traditions and contemporary glass production, before returning to the studio to investigate patterns, structures, and inspirations found in nature.

🔎 ARCHIP Summer School 2026: Day 1–3

The first days of the workshop included an introduction to the project by Leo Stuckardt and Yayun Liu from MVRDV, a guided tour of Prague Castle, and visits to Bořislavka, matériO’ Prague, and SIPRAL.

Today, students started exploring digital tools through an introduction to Rhino & Grasshopper and moved into the first phase of their designs.

Summer School 2026 has officially begun! ☀️

Over the next two weeks, 28 students from the Czech Republic, Poland, Canada, Denmark, and Taiwan will explore the material possibilities of concrete and glass in architecture.

💬 While the programme overall addresses the material possibilities of the meeting of concrete and glass in architecture, the workshop (being more experimental and exploratory in nature) also seeks to find strategies, techniques, and even beautiful accidents that can inform new methods of design and expand the emerging knowledge base for 3D-printed buildings.
This includes material explorations, opportunities for integrating nature into building envelopes, and practical applications of new experimental design and fabrication techniques.

The workshop takes place in close cooperation with Federico Díaz (So Concrete), MVRDV, and the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU).
