Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen, together with executive producer Robert Raths, invited long-time friend and composer Alex Somers, producers/multi-instrumentalists duo Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith (aka Disiniblud), and fellow Icelandic composer duo Kjartan Holm and Sin Fang to rework the entire album. The result is a sprawling and shimmering trip back through the record’s melodies, with a dream-like daze more suited for after the dancefloor and when the lights have faded.

Talking about the project, Ólafur and Janus say: “There are so many layers within this music, and we were curious to see what might emerge when other artists shone a light on them. Bringing together this dream team felt very special. It was fascinating to discover what each artist connected with and what rose to the surface through their perspective.”

This week we partnered with select independent record shops worldwide to invite fans to come and listen to the full album together — the day before the album’s physical release — including Beams Records in Tokyo, London’s Phonica, HHV in Berlin, Healing Force Records in L.A., and many more.

Ryan Lee West aka Rival Consoles has shared a remix of Coda by celebrated UK producer and long-time fan of West’s music, Loraine James. The remix originally made an appearance in Rival Consoles’ BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix broadcast in November last year.

American composer and producer Tyondai Braxton releases today ‘Oslo’, the third track taken from his forthcoming album Splayed Werks, with the album set for release on August 21. Talking about the new single, Braxton says “I played in Oslo at the Henie Onstad art center a few years ago and it was a great time. I titled the piece to commentate the experience.”

In July 2024 Kiasmos returned with their second album, II, to critical and fan acclaim. The album took Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen across four continents over the next 18 months, playing to sold-out audiences. Now the duo have entrusted five artists to completely reimagine it.

II Reworked will be released on double vinyl and CD on July 3, with a digital release following on August 7. We are partnering with selected independent record shops worldwide to invite fans to come and listen to the full album together the evening before its physical release.

American composer, producer, and professor Tyondai Braxton announces today his new album Splayed Werks with the release of the track UnFS. The album is out on August 21.

Splayed Werks marks his first full-length album since the 2022 release of his symphonic work, Telekinesis, reveals itself as unlike what came before, including 70+ minutes of pure electronics and sound design, comprising mostly sub-five minute tracks recorded in his home studio.
