Let me explain what schemas are, because once you understand this, your relationship fights will suddenly make SO much sense.

A schema is basically an emotional blueprint from your past. It’s a pattern you learned early in life that protected you back then, but now it’s showing up in your relationship in ways that aren’t helpful anymore.

As a Caribbean couple you both show up with your own schemas, which then (because you do not know that this is happening) wreak havoc in your relationship.

The beautiful thing? Once you can NAME your schema, you can start to see it as separate from who you are. It’s not “You did this on purpose”, it’s “Oh, that’s my schema showing up.”

You couldn’t have done anything else with those life lessons. But you get to learn something different now.
