The 2026 FIFA World Cup has shown how international visibility can become a powerful driver for tourism destinations. According to an analysis by Data Appeal Company / Almaviva Group and the ATTA - African Travel & Tourism Association, Cape Verde has recorded a 50.3% increase in flight bookings for this summer, as well as a 14.4% rise in advance bookings for the coming months following its historic participation in the tournament.

It is a clear example of how a major sporting event can inspire travellers to discover new destinations.
