Cloud modernization is rarely just a migration; it’s a risk and complexity problem disguised as infrastructure work. ☁️

In this engagement, the goal was to migrate 10 production microservices from AWS to Azure while modernizing the platform, improving scalability, and reducing costs, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

The real challenge wasn’t the move itself, but legacy dependencies, slow release cycles, and limited operational visibility.

Last Friday, our Software Engineer Barbara Gagro held an internal talk on something the team has been heads down on: application performance optimization for our internal project Fornulio.

💡She walked us through time complexity, system architecture trade-offs, database indexing, and how the team identified and resolved serious bottlenecks across the stack.

👉 The result?

Endpoints that previously took 2–3 seconds now respond in under 300ms.

Cloud cost problems are rarely a spending problem. They're a visibility problem that eventually becomes a spending problem. 📈

When finance started asking questions about cloud spend, the engineering team had no answers. Untagged resources, over-provisioned instances, and no clear ownership. The infrastructure had scaled with the business, but the visibility hadn't.
