We have a New World Record for highest WHP VK56! Jon Rogers has become known in the stick-shift drag racing world for pushing import drag platforms well past conventional limits, moving from SR20 and 2JZ's into one of the wildest VK56-powered builds out right now. His VK56 program has helped put the platform on the map as a legitimate big-power alternative, so we are proud to see Jon make the switch over to the new GXR Series of Garrett turbos: the G-XRace GXR57-98 98.9mm.
The car just made 2321 WHP at 51 psi and 2260 WHP at 47 psi. As Jon said, “We could tell we had hit the zone where back pressure wasn’t happy and it was falling off up top. We had a larger 1.41 turbine housing with us but ran out of time... confident that with the bigger housing, 2500+ should be no problem!”
Jon’s Nissan 5.6L VK56 platform uses a factory aluminum block, stock sleeves, and original factory crankshaft, and is methanol-fed. Inside, the engine uses custom forged pistons and heavy-duty connecting rods, paired with HeadGames pocket-ported factory cylinder heads, Kelford cams, GSC valvetrain, a stainless fuel hoop, and copper head gaskets.
Boost now comes from a Garrett G-XRace GXR57-98 98.9mm turbocharger, giving this high-revving VK56 the airflow capacity, pressure-ratio capability, and high-flow efficiency needed for the new horsepower figures. A Ross Performance dry sump oiling system supports oil control, while the Haltech Nexus R5 VCU handles engine management through a universal wiring harness. 🏁🚗💨

328.285 mph (528 Km/h) on the salt! Ryan Boyle and the team reset the C/DS streamliner record at the Bonneville Salt Flats, pushing 'Thunder in the Morning' to an official timed speed of 328.285 mph and adding another major chapter to their diesel land speed story.

pushed the "LandSpeedScaping" truck to a GPS speed of 263 mph, with an official timed speed of 262.412 mph at Bonneville Speed Week, setting a new benchmark for the world’s fastest mini/midsize truck.
This is not a hypercar with active aero or a massive tire package. It is a 90's Toyota Hilux fighting the salt with 1400+ horsepower, no aero, no traction control, 4.5-inch wide slicks, manifold and a 3.2L Dart Machinery Iron Eagle 2JZ-GTE fed by a Garrett G47-1850 and controlled by a GVW50 wastegate. (Same turbo and wastegates on it since last year's run!)

Hard to beat a 500+whp daily with a stock intake, stock cat-back exhaust and virtually factory exterior appearance.
This is a customer build out of — and proof that OEM+ doesn't mean small numbers. The G25-660 PowerMax™ Direct Fit Stage 2 is a bolt-on upgrade: same OE turbo housing, precalibrated electric actuator, no custom fabrication required. Paired with 980cc injectors, a brushless low-pressure fuel pump, and FlexFuel — all while keeping the factory intake and cat-back exhaust completely stock — the car still put down 425whp on pump gas and 516whp on E50.
Something that can be appreciated is the fact that the turbo speed was monitored throughout tuning — if you have a speedometer for your car, why not have one for your turbo? This let the team push right up to the G25-660's safe operating range without going past it.
