Riviere Noire, 2025, 150x200cm, acrylic and oil stick on linen

My latest works are inspired of Mauritius, tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. My painting process was ignited by the island’s unique spirit, its multicultural celebration, and the unfolding of vibrant colors. The stunning natural beauty of the island, with its diverse flowers, lush greens, and the ever-changing hues of the ocean, greatly influenced my art. The welcoming attitude of the people in this country, where multiple world religions coexist peacefully, has left a lasting impression on me.
Rising sea levels are a reality for this small island, where uprooted trees along the shoreline are being replanted further inland.

Upon first encounter, these paintings might look like flowers floating through the air, cascades of color and vitality on the wings of gentle ocean breezes.
Flowers can be thought of as symbols of life and transformational moments. Petals fly, blossoms bloom bright and then fade as the great unbroken circle continues.
We are all in constant states of motion and change, in life, dreams, imaginings and aspirations, ever immersed in beauty, song and wishes of well.
Yes, there are dark undercurrents and challenges we all face, but look to the skies and let the petals be your guide!

Thank you all for visiting my exhibition in Finland! Kiitos!
It was wonderful to see so many old and new friends in the opening.

"Flow/ers" exhibition was warmly welcomed in autumnal Helsinki and I am happy and grateful to tell that in the end of exhibition most paintings were sold or reserved and now brighten walls in their new locations.
Huge thank you to Anni/G12!
