ESCMID is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Vasee Moorthy.

Dr Moorthy served as Strategy and Scientific Advisor in the Department of Science for Health and Acting Lead of the R&D Blueprint for Epidemics in the Office of the Chief Scientist at the World Health Organization (WHO). He was a highly respected leader in global health whose contributions to clinical research, vaccine development and epidemic preparedness had a profound impact on public health worldwide.

We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and collaborators. His dedication to scientific excellence, international collaboration, and the advancement of global health will be remembered with great respect and gratitude.
