Today Friday 23rd May 2025, the NRM Party will go to polls to elect Party Structures at District/City Level. There will also be election of Workers and Entrepreneurs Leagues at District/City Level.
The timeline of today's activities remains as follows: Voters converge at the Venue by 10:00am, expression of interest, nominations and campaigns run up to 11:45am and polling starts at 12:00pm and ends at 2:00pm.

: The National Resistance Movement - NRM flag bearer for Kisoro Woman MP, Rose Kabagyeni, is actively campaigning across Nkuringo Sub-county in Bukimbiri County. Kabagyeni has already addressed rallies in Gyikobero, Kikebero, Kikomo, and Kahurire B wards, engaging with voters to seek their support. Later, she will continue canvassing in Rubuguri Town Council.
She is accompanied by NRM Secretariat officials, including the National Treasurer Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuheire, Senior Manager for Mobilization Samuel Eyenga, and Senior Manager for Communications Rogers Mulindwa, as well as district party leaders. Voting will take place on Thursday, November 14, 2024.

PICS: This morning, leaders from the National Resistance Movement - NRM Secretariat visited the family of the late Hon. Sarah Mateke, former Minister of State for Defence and Woman MP for Kisoro, and daughter of veteran leader and NRM district Chairman Dr. Philimon Mateke, at his home in Kisoro.
The delegation, led by Deputy National Treasurer Hon. Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, expressed condolences to the family, laying a wreath on Hon. Sarah Mateke’s grave and honoring her dedicated service to Uganda.
The team is in Kisoro to support NRM flag bearer Rose Kabagyenyi in the upcoming by-election on November 14th, held to fill the seat left vacant by the late Mateke.
Hon. Kyatuhaire was accompanied by other Secretariat officials, including Mr. Rogers Mulindwa, Senior Manager for Communications, and Mr. Samuel Eyenga, Senior Manager for Mobilization, along with additional NRM Secretariat staff.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today welcomed the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, H.E. Felix Tshisekedi, to State House Entebbe.
Their discussions covered various matters, including security cooperation between Uganda and the DRC, regional security, and infrastructure projects such as key roads that hold mutual economic benefits.
Both leaders acknowledged that Uganda and Congo share common needs and priorities. President Museveni expressed gratitude to H.E. Tshisekedi for accepting his invitation and engaging positively in the discussions.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that the government is committed to supporting the teaching of Kiswahili to the population as he officiated at the graduation of the 304 students who have been taking lessons at the NRM Secretariat for 12 months.
said the language is essential for promoting trade both regionally and internationally. “We are going to push the program and you will be the teachers now. But you must perfect the vocabulary and the tenses,” President Museveni said as addressed the first intake of the Kiswahili cadres at Kyambogo University grounds.

Earlier today, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni welcomed His Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and his delegation at the Nakasero State Lodge.
President congratulated Somalia on joining the East African Community (EAC) and on its upcoming role as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2025-2026.
The two leaders discussed various issues, with a strong focus on the security situation in Somalia and the region. Our two countries also signed the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), an essential part of the Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation.

Yesterday, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Sugar Corporation of Uganda Ltd in Lugazi. On behalf of Uganda and the NRM, expressed gratitude and congratulations to the Mehta family, recognizing the pioneering efforts of the elder Mehta, who founded the Sugar Industry in 1924, and Mzee Mahendra Mehta, who joined in 1952 to lead the group.
The NRM’s decision to return properties to expelled Asians has proven invaluable, paving the way for substantial investments. The Mehta Group’s expansion, from sugar production to biogas, bio-fertilizers, cables, and roses, highlights the vast potential of commercial agriculture in Uganda. Their commitment to corporate social responsibility in education and healthcare is truly commendable.

The National Resistance Movement - NRM and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) have entered a cooperation agreement to facilitate ideological training of the South Sudanese ruling party leaders here in Uganda at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi.
The two parties resolved today Saturday in a high-level meeting that featured both leaders of the NRM Secretariat and a delegation from the SPLM. The NRM side was led by the Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong and the National Treasurer, Amb. Barbara Nekesa.
The South Sudanese Liberation Movement delegation was led by CDE. Bol Makueng Youl, the SPLM Secretary for External Relations. Bol was accompanied by Dr. John Oryem, the secretary for Training and research, Antipas Nyok Kucha, the deputy Principal for Political school and the party’s Director for Political Desk, Dennis Marial Mourwel.
