This November, Manitoba stops changing its clocks. 🕐
Some of your IT systems didn't get the memo.
On November 1st, Manitoba won't fall back. We're staying at UTC−5 year-round, now officially called Manitoba Standard Time.
Here's what most don't know: for years, most software didn't offer Winnipeg as a time zone option. So "Chicago" or "US Central" got picked instead. It never mattered, because the two always matched.
After November 1, Chicago falls back an hour. Manitoba doesn't. And those settings won't fix themselves.
The systems most likely to end up an hour off:
🔹 Phone and voicemail systems
🔹 Time clocks and payroll
🔹 Alarm, access control and cameras
🔹 Scheduled reports and automated tasks
🔹 Industry-specific and cloud software
An hour sounds small until it's on a payroll record, a security camera timestamp, or a 9 a.m. meeting that shows up at 8.
Our advice: on Monday, November 2, take some time to check the systems you rely on most. If something's an hour off that week, this is probably why.
