๐Ÿšจ Canada Tightens Asylum Rules โ€“ Key Change You Must Know (Bill C-12) ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

On March 26, 2026, the Government of Canada passed Bill C-12, bringing major changes to asylum eligibility and immigration processing.

๐Ÿ“Œ IMPORTANT UPDATE (Effective for claims on or after June 3, 2025):
If you entered Canada after June 24, 2020 and wait more than 1 year to claim asylum, your case will NOT be referred to the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) โ€” even if you left and re-entered Canada.

โš ๏ธ This is a major shift. Delays can now completely block access to the refugee system.

๐Ÿ’ผ What this means for you:
โ€ข Timing is now critical
โ€ข Late claims may be refused without a hearing
โ€ข You may only have limited options like PRRA

โœ… What you should do:
โ€ข Seek advice as early as possible
โ€ข Do NOT delay your claim
โ€ข Ensure your case is properly prepared from the start

๐Ÿ“ฉ Need guidance?
Embark Immigration Services Ltd. is here to help you navigate these changes and protect your future in Canada.
