Elevate Performance Golf
Helping golfers of all ages play better through personalized coaching. Lessons with Ryan Robillard & Emily Ward.
Private lessons, junior programs, ladies coaching & competitive player development. Indoor in Windsor, outdoor at Sutton Creek Golf Club I have a ground up approach based around the fundamentals of balance, posture and weight distribution. I use training aids, have my students perform exaggerated feels to accelerate changes and ask a lot of questions. I will do whatever is necessary to help you improve! As of the end of 2020, I have completed over 2700 hours of teaching and coaching with players ranging from beginners who have never touched a club, to elite level junior and collegiate players, to your weekend warrior who works a full time job. I also have over 400 hours of professional development and certifications. I am a big believer in always developing new skills. I love watching, reading and listening to the best and brightest minds in Golf and Business.

We’re expanding our winter junior golf programming at Elevate Performance Golf.
When we launched our initial winter schedule, we wanted to create more opportunities for junior golfers to continue learning and developing throughout the indoor season.
The response also showed us two areas where we could do more.
We’re now adding:
High School | Ages 13 to 17
A new Wednesday program focused on skill development, better practice habits and helping high school golfers become more independent players.
Ignite Sunday | Ages 7 to 10
A second Ignite option on Sunday mornings, added due to demand and designed to give more families access to the program.
These additions expand our winter group programming to ages 4 through 17, with different opportunities based on a player’s age, experience and stage of development.
That’s an important part of what we’re trying to build at Elevate: not simply individual junior programs, but a clearer development pathway that gives young golfers an appropriate place to start and somewhere to progress.
Registration is now open for Semester 1.

A new winter of junior golf at Elevate. ⛳️
https://elevateperformancegolf.com/junior-golf/
Over the last couple of months, Coach Emily and I have been working on the next phase of the Elevate Junior Golf Pathway, and we’re excited to officially launch our Winter Junior Golf Programs.
For the first time, we’re offering a full indoor season with three semesters of junior programming from November through early April.
Semester 1 begins this November with five programs:
⛳ SPARK | Ages 4 to 6
⛳ IGNITE | Ages 7 to 10
⛳ IGNITE GIRLS | Ages 7 to 10
⛳ LAUNCH | Ages 11 to 14
⛳ LAUNCH GIRLS | Ages 11 to 14
Every group is limited to just six junior golfers, giving players the opportunity to train with other kids while still receiving plenty of individual coaching.
Our goal is simple: give more junior golfers a great place to start, a great environment to improve, and a clear place to go next.
Semester 1 registration is now open.

The Elevate Junior Pathway is growing. ⛳
Over the past year, we’ve been working to build a clearer development pathway for junior golfers in Windsor–Essex — with opportunities for players at different ages, skill levels and stages of their golf journey.
This week, we’re launching Phase 2.
With the outdoor season beginning to wind down, Phase 2 takes our Junior Pathway indoors and introduces our winter coaching opportunities at Elevate Performance Golf.
Our first winter semester begins in November, with program details and registration opening this week.
We’ve also updated our Junior Pathway page so families can see what we’re building, explore the different stages of the pathway and learn more about how junior golfers can develop with Elevate.
Whether your junior is just getting started, wants to develop their skills, or is pursuing competitive golf, our goal is to provide a clear next step — and a pathway that can grow with them.

If you have any questions, send me a message.
And if you want to make sure you’re one of the first to know when winter registration opens this week, send me a DM and I’ll make sure you get the information.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to coach junior golfers at almost every stage of development, from kids picking up a golf club for the first time to provincial champions, national-level players, and golfers who have gone on to play collegiately.
Along the way, I’ve spent countless hours learning from and working alongside other coaches, golf professionals, strength and conditioning professionals, parents, and people involved in junior sport.
All of that experience has shaped what we’re trying to build at Elevate.
For those interested in learning more, we’ve put together the Elevate Junior Golf Development Pathway. A look at how we think about junior development, the different stages a golfer can move through, and the opportunities we’re working to create for players and families in Windsor-Essex.

One question continues to come up in conversations with parents:
What should a junior golfer actually be doing next?
For a parent, that can be surprisingly difficult to answer.
What should golf look like at 5? At 9? At 13?
When should instruction become more structured?
When should they start playing on the golf course?
When does competition make sense?
How much should they practise?
What role should athletic development play?
And if they really love the game and want to see how far they can take it, what does that pathway actually look like?
I don’t think the answer is simply more lessons, more tournaments or more hours of practice.
And I certainly don’t think every junior golfer should follow the same path.
What they need is the right environment, opportunities and level of support for where they are right now, with a clear understanding of what could come next.
That idea has become the foundation of what we’re building:
Start. Develop. Play. Compete. Perform.
The goal is ambitious but simple:
Create a pathway where every junior golfer can find a place to start and a meaningful next step.
That could be a four-year-old experiencing golf for the first time.
It could be a nine-year-old who loves the game, has started competing and wants more.
Or it could be a 16-year-old trying to prepare for provincial, national or collegiate golf.
Their programs shouldn’t look the same.
Their coaching shouldn’t look the same.
Their competition schedules shouldn’t look the same.
But they should all have a path.
This represents years of experience and thought, but it is also very much a living framework.
We’ll continue learning, working alongside other professionals, challenging our own ideas and improving what we offer as we go.
There is a lot more we want to build.
But I’m incredibly excited about the direction we’re heading and what this can become for junior golf in Windsor-Essex.
And if you’re a coach, parent, golf professional or someone working in junior development, I’d genuinely love your thoughts.

I’ve been thinking for a long time about what junior golf development could look like if we built a pathway from the ground up.
Over the past year, Emily and I have put a lot of time into figuring out what that pathway could look like at Elevate.
Not just another clinic.
A place for kids to start the game, develop their skills, get on the golf course, compete, and continue progressing as far as they want to take it.
This fall, we’re taking the first step.
Three new programs. A new junior development pathway. And a lot more to come.
We’ll be sharing the full details later this week. ⛳️
I’m really excited to finally start putting this into action.
If your trail foot rolls to the outside during your backswing, you are losing all ground stability and power. 🏌️♂️❌
When you let that foot roll, you lose the ability to apply lateral force against the ground. Instead of turning dynamically, your lower body sways and you instantly lose balance.
Try the stability test shown in the video: when I push against a player's lead hip during the backswing, if they aren't loaded correctly, they immediately get knocked over.
Here is how to fix it and lock in your trail foot control:
1️⃣ Preset Pressure at Address – Before taking the club back, intentionally engage the inside edge of your trail foot.
2️⃣ Push to Resist the Sway – As you turn into your backswing, maintain that inside edge pressure so you have a solid wall to push against.
3️⃣ Create Proper Lateral Force – Loading the inside of that foot gives you the exact anchor you need to apply force into the ground at the right time in your transition.
Lock in that trail foot anchor during your next practice session to clean up your backswing turn! 📈🎯
Save this post to fix your sway and test your lower body stability!
Loading into your trail toes during the backswing is guaranteed to ruin your downswing sequence. 🏌️♂️❌
When you carry a negative line of pressure into your toes on the backswing, your trail side has no choice but to kick out toward the golf ball during transition—leading to major contact issues and early extension.
Here is the 2-step line of pressure fix to clean up your footwork:
1️⃣ Load the Trail Heel – Early in the backswing, feel your weight pressure load into the inside of your trail heel rather than your toes. This sets up a positive line of pressure.
2️⃣ Shift & Push – From the trail heel, transition onto the ball of your lead foot, allowing your lead leg and hip to push back through impact.
Big shoutout to for providing the ground reaction force technology and data to help our players see and feel these pressure shifts instantly! 📊🎯

My first golf swings of the day on the driving range are always... 🤫🏌️♂️
Instead of grabbing a wedge and hitting those lazy, chippy little shots to start my warm-up, I always go through a solid dynamic routine and pull right out a 5-iron. For me, the first thing I want to feel during a session is a truly compressed, well-struck golf shot. Let’s be honest, watching a low, punchy flighted 5-iron pierce through the morning air is just an elite visual to kick off the day. 🚀
We are also officially in that absolute sweet spot of the year for golf weather. It’s that perfect morning crispness where you start the range session in a hoodie, and by the time you walk to the first tee, you’re rolling in just a golf shirt. ☀️
Keeping it light and moving easy today in the Airspeed shorts. If you haven’t tried these yet, they are easily some of the most lightweight and breathable shorts you can find. The athletic fit is completely dialed in honestly, I have them in almost every color at this point and they’ll be on heavy rotation all year long. 💯
