There is one room in our whole house that is 100% complete and I would argue that it is the most important. Right? Yes.

We’ve wanted a secret bookcase door for many years and many houses and just never had a spot to make it work. Until now!

Goal for this room was to purchase nothing but bar decor accessories. All the furniture was pulled from other rooms in our house and the built in cabinets are only half of a unit that was in our bedroom. Big plans coming for the second half!

Now for a name. We’ve been calling it The Snug but that feels a bit pretentious 🤷🏼

Looking for new garage / shop space to rent. Ideally between 1000-1500 sq feet. Reach out if you know of anything!

A small fireplace refresh in my own house. Stripped and restored the original wood mantle, changed the white painted brick to black, new firebrick panels on the interior and picked up some vintage Italian clay tiles from to replace the cheapo 90’s ones that had been put down. Much happier with it now!

Made the trek to my favourite lumber yard all the way out in Smithville to pick out slabs worthy of this kitchen refresh. Replaced the old bifold door to the pantry with these wormy maple arched doors with cane inset and flush handles. Built new benches and table top out of the same stuff with hairpin leg for easier access and mimicked the curve over here in the leg too.

Of course I didn’t remember to take a completed photo 😬 but both these bad boys are fully enclosed for the winter. We’ll see you in the spring Pelee Island!
