Abridged Opera is an indie opera company designed to bring a taste of this grand art form to communities in Southwestern Ontario that have limited access.
Windsor-Essex’s premiere opera company, our mission is to connect the community with exciting, educational, and professional productions that cater to a wide and varied audience. The company started in 2014 under the direction of Leamington native, Erin Armstrong but has since expanded and is governed by a board of local singers. Abridged Opera offers a full season of "abridged" opera to their community while collaborating with a variety of local arts groups.

What is Diva Cam?!
A pilot project for Abridged Opera to hire local artists and connect them with our amazing community in Windsor 📍
We will be performing with a completely mobile set-up at a variety of festivals around Windsor during the summer and fall 💃🏻
Music should be from the Western Classical Canon, but can also include Golden Age Musical Theatre, and Croooner repertoire 🎙️
Performers should have sets of 5 pieces prepared 🎶
Applications are open to singers and instrumentalists as long as your instrument is easily mobile 🏃🏻♀️
